That question, is the least combative one I get when I have a successful intercept on an enemy aircraft.
No, I don't have a shade account with a second computer running showing the enemy positions, nor am I receiving messages from "friends" on the enemy side giving away your position.
2 recent examples:
I'm just tooling around climbing toward the activity when a few guys running NOE, and doing pretty well to, low enough not to show a dar bar, but not low enough to trigger the ships radar the are unknowingly flying near, I swoop in and kill the goon. Got a couple PM's on that one.
I am looking for a goon in a ME262 and can't find him when a fellow player in a GV calls out that he has just heard an aircraft shut off his engines near him. I go look, there it is, dead goon. I got 4 PM's for that one.
Let me tell you what you don't see. You don't see me searching and searching and then failing because there was no kill. You don't see how much time I spend hunting. You don't see the years and years of playing and getting to know the habits of players.
I love to play as a hunter killer. I've done it for years, give me a little credit for developing the skills needed to succeed.
One last thing. Every once in awhile I do get PM'd information from the enemy: "They" are pissed and hunting you Zoney...............that's my fav.
Yesterday, I'm hinting in a K4, watching the dar, and figuring that I have some one inbound the strats, skirting the friendly radar. I park at 30k, and sure enough, here comes a set of 3 Mossie 16's at 28K, he's gotta be safe right............wrong. Got a PM for that one too, and I told him exactly what I did, still wasn't acceptable to my victim.
At any time, if I intercept you, feel free to ask politely how I did it and I will tell you, and I will tell you the truth. Here is a hint to stay alive from hunters like me, "Never ever ever fly directly from your home base to your target.

Happens all the time. Once a guy in B29 left a dar bar trail on the way to strats that wasn't hard to figure out. Our side was chatting about it for 15 minutes and when the time was right to launch 163s, about 5 guys upped. The 29 pilot was sure someone had outed him. How else could a bunch of idiot Knights have unraveled his complex plan?

This is a commentary of today's society - "It can't be my fault, so someone must have cheated, there should be a law..."
Keep up the good work Zoney... Remember HTC said it best, I'll paraphrase "the object of this game is to piss the other guy off"

On a different but related topic - One of my fav's we got on Tuesday night (Squad night) was/is:
"Come on Stampf, quit being 'pure ballers' and do the right thing, and have your guys capture that base." :rofl
I wouldn't even know how. :aok
As far as Zoney goes - He's a hunter through and through. Most guys who accuse him/us of wrong doing are just too new to the game I guess to realize how DarBar works.

Strat running is high risk when you are on your own. Just like unescorted daylight bombing was in WW2. They know you will end up at your target. Sometimes skirting bases or killing some dar along the way makes it a little harder for them to find exactly where you are. :noid
I mostly hope I can get my ordinance dropped before being engaged. Nothing worse than flying all that way for naught.

ALL BISH AND ROOK PLEASE TAKE NOTE
He said it twice, he means it. Therefore, from henceforth, all Bish and Rook pilots are asked to check the roster on entering the game and, if Zoney is online, please join the massive group of dots all chasing him.
Be warned, if it's a Tuesday you may need large numbers...

My favorite is the bomber riding that very narrow corridor between radars on the way to the HQ. How did you find me cheater, I avoided all the radar rings?! :lol

There is a player that acts like a rather large putz in game that always accuses others of using a 2nd account to track players and to 'map watch'. I was accused by this player of using a 2nd account to track and 'map watch' because I was able to correctly figure out his route (it was the most direct route from Rookie base to Knit base) he was taking in a C-47 to drop troops on our base. While searching, I was able to see the sun reflect off his goon on the deck and shot him down.

I got PM harrassed by a guy that landed a dark goon on the beach in view of a port and wondered how I found him :uhoh

The stupidity (Or lack of knowledge about radar and darbar) on some people's ends amazes me.
Single darbar traveling for 3 sectors in a straight line...Hmm...Wonder where the hell that's going.
Got a rage PM a few weeks back after I killed a goon that landed outside of the GV spawn to a port that had the VH disabled. Decided to roll a wirb over there and happened to stumble upon it. Apparently I was a haxxor for the day.

lolz. I did that once, but it was a jeep not wirb.

a couple of years ago when the vtards used to horde bases. I would take out the ords and dar on a number of bases leaving only 1 or 2 with them up. then I would wait patiently for the vtards to try to sneak a base. I would guess right on their noes like 4 or 5 times a night and give enough warning to stop them cold. those were the good times.
a few weeks ago a guy destroyed our hq. since there was no dar we thought he had bailed as I had just logged when the dar went down. I took off in a goon and was on my second resupply when I notice the hq was blinking again for a few seconds, it happened 2 or 3 times. another guy went to check south in his goon while I went north took me 15 minutes of flying to find the noe lancs. I just loitered around till a squadie came in and nailed him.
some people just make it too easy to be found.

UI usually follow Zoney around until he finds some buffs to kill.

My recollection, and I'm a little out of this loop (so I could be wrong): large putz is sort of an oxymoron. Small putz, large schmuck...

This is a good strategy Semp. Shhhhhhh....don't let all the good secrets out. We Pigs call it the funnel of doom! :D

I do belive there are cases where people cheats in order to get info about nmy. For example a guy in my team had the exact location of a hidden nmy cv that had been gone for hours w/o anyone from our team been near it. There werent any logical explaination to how that guy could know the pos of the cv.

Was it in one of the areas where they tend to (spelled always) hide CV's? Might've been an educated guess.
Wiley.

Nah...majik 8 ball.
-
Yes i concidered that. But it where still several sectors to hide that cv in and the guy knew in what part of the sector and also heading of the cv.

It might have been a second sortie after he spotted the CV on his first sortie.

Zoney was one of the first guys to take me under his wing and teach me Aces High. He is the quintessential hunter with great SA and MA (map awareness). Cheating with a second account isn't in his vocabulary or in his character.

Completely unintentional finds while taking the back route to the strats is how some hidden CV's are found. I know that I have done that at least a dozen times.

I have actually seen several times a player on my team get disgusted and pm location of a hidden cv to someone on other team. These players have issues with hiding other teams stuff.

yes. But he just typed the pos at the vox and noone was even near the cv. It wherent on any route to any strats. My squad mate also thought it where something strange about it. It wasnt an obvious spot to hide the cv at.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that this is just a game, and as such I will have countryman game the game and I will die, get hoed, vulched, picked, spawn camped and out flown and gunned by just about everyone.after that I have the best time and if I see rooks or knights flying as bish..as a few rooks did last night..I welcome them and enjoy watching them kill there buddies..my 2 cents :salute

Sadly, the squeekers that do all the PM'ing will never get it. Plus they aren't on the BBS to see or hear how stupid they sound with their lame excuses.
-
Don't think I've ever asked "How did you find me?" to Zoney. I'm usually asking how can we get rid of him.

How do you know I'm wearing a headband? I still have my underwear on in that picture. :headscratch:

I remember 4-5 years ago; I was sitting there watching the map drinking a beer when I noticed the V-squad were enjoying their NOE missions to obvious bases. There were only two logical bases on the map to NOE (from the bish horde brigade); A24 and A-25. There were fighters over A-24 already; and tank town being heavy on action A10 was out of the question, so I took off with a C-hog with two drop tanks and hovered at 10k above A24 about 15 miles northeast of the airfield.
I screamed on Country and 4-5 did lift to meet me; some were thinking I was using a shade; but nobody noticed anything until a Goon landed by town; then another goon; then another - someone in an La7 dispatched all 3; we knew they were coming.
4 of us seen about 10-12 sets of bombers escorted by 4-5 fighters; we all dove and about 95% of the horde bailed out.
I did love the colorful comments about how we "knew they were coming" - really wish those old films worked today; I would have a riot watching that one again.

Given my years in game, I can tell you that when it comes to hiding CVs
1. The maps are only so big....and stumbling across one is common place
2. The chess pieces all seem to hide them in all the same places.......Take the CV to the farthest possible corner of the map and hide it there
( Then the people looking for it can figure out the route to the farthest corner of a map...isnt that difficult from there, expecially when if its your countries cv your looking for. To narrow down what corner its in, 99% of the time its in the corners between the 2 countries that have interest in it...cutting the amount of corners to look in from 4 to 2.)

I know, i have found cvs that way several times. But this one where still on its way to the hiding spot and almost an hour of flying away from our nearest base.
