Thanks. But no yak-9u color schemes. It has to be the 9u. I've got books on the plane, just no color pics.

That was a reply to weazel meaning I didn't see any yak-9u schemes. Thanks mason, I saw those pics earlier too, but I'm looking for a russian version. Damn, I'm picky. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

The best I could find is the photo Mason and Azreal already posted. Here's links to a couple more (already wasted too much time, so just giving links)
http://aeroweb.lucia.it/~agretch/Movies/Yak-9.MPG (http://aeroweb.lucia.it/~agretch/Movies/Yak-9.MPG) - Color film of yak-9u in hangar.
Some pics at http://aeroweb.lucia.it/~agretch/Features/Champlin.html (http://aeroweb.lucia.it/~agretch/Features/Champlin.html)
Didn't find great pics, but got distracted for a long time reading at: http://www.aviapress.com/book/arkhiv/arkhiv005.htm (http://www.aviapress.com/book/arkhiv/arkhiv005.htm)
Repeat of above scenario here: http://home.att.net/~historyzone/Yakovlev.html (http://home.att.net/~historyzone/Yakovlev.html)
Heh, more reading, by the time I get done I'll be smart as Leonid! (okay, maybe not) http://www.eagle-nest.org/yak9.html (http://www.eagle-nest.org/yak9.html)

SUPERFLY,
Color schemes for VVS aircraft were two-tone grey camoflauge by '45. The picture below (Azrael's post has it too) is of a Yak-9U at Monino. Aper has some good pictures, those last two (White '10' & '22') looking the best.
Also, in Morgan's Osprey book Soviet Aces of world War 2 you would be within VVS regulations if you gave the Yak-9U the color schemes from plates 29, 34, 35, or 36.
Finally, SUPERFLY, check this site (http://www.kithobbyist.com/VVS/vvscolor.html) out as it is quite comprehensive on VVS color schemes during the GPW.

C'mon Yak-lovers, provide SUPERFLY with a good color profile (side/up/down) of your preferred Yak-9U. Draw one from the pics you have. We did it with the Macchi C.205V. Lets help SUPERFLY. I WANT to fly that thing ASAP (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
