Had an close call in a B-25 vs a Panzer today. Just driving along like normal killing gvs, but never have I had a shot come so close to getting me and yet missing. Also :salute KiLLin44, was a close one.

Was a bit of lag so it took him a second to die, but it was almost worth it :O.

I was waiting for friendlies to bring back ord at a V-Base so I decided I'd land my wounded B-17 and maybe spot some tanks on the ground.
I sat next to a Panzer for a good 5-6 minutes before friendlies came back with bombs w/o him noticing me (about a close are you are in that pic). How he didn't hear me, I'll never know. I then drove in front of him to protect incoming M3's.
The panzer won.

I thought for sure he got a hit on my B25, i had film at .07x speed to check how close it was :lol.

He hit it with the pumpkin chunker in the nose. If you notice in the 1st SS

As you can see the tracer is going through the panzer. As stated there was lag so it took the panzer a minute to die, but gave him enough time to shoot

Yes Yoss the first SS was the killshot, but lag allowed him to fire, and luckily he blew up right as i was about to pass over him. :salute

I had another Close call that same day (only a few minutes apart actually), where i had to make one heck of a quick emergency landing.
I was just flying along defending the base when i notice i am the center of attention, and nothing i can do in my hunk of metal.

I managed to Ditch as it can be seen in the last picture i was stopped :D.

That's just plain madness! Only one working elevator and rudder, no ailerons, but both flaps!
I love driving the B25 around shooting gvs. Had a fun encounter with a Wirb once. I came in on a high aproach, shot and hit him. He managed to survive and pop a few rounds into me taking off half my wing, smoking and engine, and severing a fuel line. I manage to keep it under control, and went back for revenge. Shot him again and tracked him, and he got a few more hits on me getting a few gunners and an elevator. I couldn't keep it up anymore and put gears down in time tocrash land in the fields. Turned back around yet again and snuck up on him and blasted a round into his rear armor for the kill. I was able to drive myself back to our base for a landed sortie. :)

By 'high approach' roughly how high/how far away did you dive in from?

Who can hate the B-25 (except the enemy)?
I normally attack from around 1K on most tanks and keep a slight angle on the tank and begin fire at 1K with Dot of cursor just over the turret (or on). If i know the tanker is going to shoot at me (turret pointed at me) I will come in at 3K or so and get a 45 degree angle on him and fire from 800 out with the Dot on the front of the tank. Pull up quickly though as the B25 get Pilot wounds easily and anything 400 or closer can get ya.

Would have been nice if that turret had fallen down on top of your purdy B-25. :D

Sadly enough i think it did, luckily it did no damage. No scratching my purty B25 after death, or before for that matter. :D Although some people seem to need to scratch my new Silver purtiness :O
