Almost done. Not a great piece of art, but that should do while we wait for the new 3D model:)
Next is Gabby, and my shot at our D40.

Looks nice, Frenchy - though on my screen the red seems a little washed out? I thought the red trim was brighter or more intense than that.
Hey, what is the name of that font you used to for the tail ID numbers? I've been looking for a font like that - your's looks perfect...
Can't wait to see Gabby's bird!

The panel lines look a bit too defined. Maybe you could adjust its opacity a bit?
Other than that, its the coolest Jug skin I've seen ever!

I agree with kweassa the panel lines are a bit to bold.
They seem to be a strange color like purplish grey. Maybe thats why the stand out. Adding some opacity might help.
Also some dirt / shading around the lines. You can copy your panel line layer and then blur it and place under you panel lines, adjust opacity and you get a shadowing that breaks up the boldness of the line. I also add a white offset to help hi lite the edges.
Here's an example. Please note the opacity for each hasnt been adjusted and left bold so it shows well in the image. Once the camo and color has been done then I would go back and adjust the opacity to give a more subtle look. The below image is a section of the 109F4.bmp

Frenchy, thats one peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerty jug!:aok
-
Oh yeah ... I have the shading around the panel lines to do, the fuselage/empenage Wx, the dust on the invasion marking, the oil streaks from the trap door, the trap doors from the wing, the adjustment of the camo for the top of the fuselage and the wing filets.
Many hours of joy left :D
Plus I have to redo those rivets, I don't like them:mad: But I don't wish to spend my life on it as when the new 3D model will be released, the skin will go to the pooper.:lol

i dont think they will accept il2 skin mods
-
Il2 skin mod?
-
they will accept it if its origional work.
there was a few other skins early on that used il2 bitmaps cut and pasted and stretched to fit ah planes i just thought i recognized the skin from the il2skins board.

I think you are talking about this Jug:
Cpt. Donovan Smith skin for Il2 (http://il2skins.com/?action=display&skinid=151)
Well, I made it :D So it would still be an original artwork anyway.
The template needed to be done from scratch for AH2, so I can do other Jugs rather quickly. Templates, thus the first jug, is always the one that takes a lot of times, after it's just "factory work".
Don't be fooled by camo paterns you recongnize, the IL2 comunauty did almost all historical skins you can think of at Il2 skins dot com (http://il2skins.com/) You cannot copy/paste a skin from IL2 because the proportion are not the same. You need to resize and then you end up with 4 pixels rivets, and grand canyons panel lines, diformed service markings and such.

Frenchy! Can you up a template of that when the work's finished!!
