Whatcha think? I always hated it, it's a serious detriment to team play. Of course if you're looking for huge numbers for one player it's a good thing, but if you want to see good solid passing/motion/5 player offense, imo illegal defense is killing it.

Are we talking NFL?

Heh, nope, it's among the rule changes the NBA is considering.
Edit explaination for non NBAphiles: In the current rules, you MUST play man on man defense. You can double team the ball handler, but unless you're going after the ball handler you must cover a specific man and with no help. (Zones, shifting defenses typical to what gets called for illegal defense)

I always thought it was a crappy rule. Whether it makes gameplay more interesting or not remains to be seen. Hopefully it will make good teamplay more profitable than the current trend towards "Iversonism." (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Another thing that caught my attention was the new 3 second rule for defenders. I think it's a great idea. Now Shaq won't be able to park his huge bellybutton under the rim the whole game. Should encourage more penetration and some nice highlight reels (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
