A blow was dealt to the community on Monday. Banex, our JG2 communications officer, had a tragedy befall he and his family. I doubt we'll see Banex anytime soon as it will take some time to heal from the loss of his one of his own sons.
We would like all of the community that can attend to join JG2 on this coming Friday night at 10:00pm EST (3:00am GM) for a Missing Man formation, and volcanoe dive in the Main Arena. All participants will fly for each respective country from their main field, with as much of a missing man formation as you can get, and then meet in the shallow Volcano in center of map, and auger.
Please, do not send your condolences to Banex by email. Do it on this BBS , God only knows he doesn't need to be flooded at this time with emails. Please respect his privacy in regards to what has occured, it's a tragedy that none of us want to live through.
Thanks.

Even as a parent myself, I cannot begin to imagine the enormity of this loss, but my thoughts and prayers are definitely with you banex. It is in our darkest hour that the light becomes ever so much more important. Whatever the source of your "light" may be banex, don't let go of it, as it will guide you through... I unfortunately will be away from my comp for a few days, and unable to attend the formation, but will most assuredly be there in spirit, thought, and prayer, and will fly the path solo at the soonest opportunity. I am sure I speak for the rest of the 902nd in expressing our deepest sympathy and condolences, and though the formation may not be flown by some of us in the arena, it is being flown in our hearts. God Bless.......

Thank you all for your words and prayers. This has been an extremely difficult 3 days fro me and I hope none of you EVER have to go through this kind of pain. I'm sure my son heard all of you whever he may be. I will be up again soon. My initial reaction was to stay out forever since I was only about 60ft away when my son died and on the computer, but I've managed to say my goodbyes and come to some kind of peace though I will always miss him and think that I should have been there when he needed me.
Once again, thank you all from me and my family. See you in the skies.

Sounds like you're doing well under the circumstances banex. I have known people who have lost children and never recover from it. Although I am sure nobody ever FULLY recovers from losing a child, I'm sure attitude has a lot to do with the grieving process.
I won't pretend to have a clue to what you're going through, so I'll shut up. Thoughts and prayers with ya....
-
Please accept my prayers and heartfelt condolences; no one who has not gone through what you have can possibly imagine it. Vaya con dios.
-
Banex,
I can Imagine what you are going through, 1 1/2 years ago I lost my 13 year old little girl to a fire and I have never felt so much pain inside, I can only thank GOD for helping me through it, and will pray that he comforts you and your family!! I'm very sorry for your loss.

Banex, toejam happen. Once, when my 4 yr old and 1 year old were taking a bath, I stepped out of the bathroom for a towel, gone 30 secs, when I returned, the 1 yr old was face down flailing away and the 4 yr. old was crying "Daddy, somethings wrong with Reilly!"...I was just in time. I was lucky. toejam happens.
Carry on with life, you have 4 beautiful children that need their Daddy. Give them a hug, tell them you love them and carry on.

Banex,
One of the facts of life is that death, for each of us, is inevitable. Unfortunately, so is the sorrow and grief that goes along with it. My heart goes out to you in this time of your terrible pain. My daughters have reached their late teens and are starting to go out on their own and I worry for them constantly. I honestly don't know how I would handle one of them dying. The pain of losing loved ones is no stranger to me, either, but through it all, I cling tenaciously to the memory of the good times, and the love shared.
The following is a poem I wrote and read at my father's funeral a few years back. I hope it brings even a small bit of comfort to you. I tend to look at each person's life as a never-ending pathway through time. Somtimes our paths are separated, sometimes they come together. When they are apart, all we can do is remember. But when they are together, ah, then we live:
Siren Sunsets
In our hearts we harbor
Different dreams to find,
Other roads call out to us
To leave this place behind.
Indeed, it is our destiny
To wind our separate ways,
Chasing after siren sunsets,
Lured by their illusive rays.
For the paths we walk were parted
Well before we ever met,
And separate they must again,
As sure as suns will set.
But for a fleeting foot of time
Our pathways were as one,
Allowing us to be together, here,
To share a common sun.
Soon it will be time, my friend,
To say our last goodbyes,
Our tempered smiles will be betrayed
By teardrops in our eyes.
But the friendship we have forged
Will fill my heart my whole life through,
Though we savor different sunsets,
I will often think of you.
