My old Joystick hs worn-out and I need to replace it soon.  I am looking for recomendations.

Saitek X36 is about $99.00 now.  Get th USB version, I think you will like it.

Hiya Squadie

Im in the same boat!
I just put the 3yr old SW 3D Pro on the shelf and picked up some "CH pro pedals" and a "Logictech Wingman Attack", it should be named "Wingman ApieceOcrap"! Its about a month old and my deadbands in Pitch and Roll are at 50%. Ya get what you pay for I guess.

Im not much of a button freak (I use the keyboard for veiws and trim) so im looking at the "CH FlightStick pro"(which seems kinda pricey for POT technology) or the "Logictech Intercepter" with magnetic stuff like the Simped Vario pedals. I also read it has 3 8way hats, which I'll find something to do with(trim). Or possibly a plane old "SideWinder", and then theirs Suncom(more POTS).

Ill probably pick up the Intercepter tomorrow! (around 50 bucks) and keep the damn receipt this time  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Ill let you know what I think!

Went with the Saitek X36 USB.  I know that the non-USB gave Eskimo (my brother) all sorts of problems, but the USB connection means that the key-board does not have to go through the controllers.  NOW how do I program this thing?  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/confused.gif)

Go to Saitek site and download SGE.  hmmm, I think www.combatsim.com (http://www.combatsim.com)  has an article on programing the stick.

How does the rudder works om the X36 USB?I have the impression that its a sliding knot on the Throttle Unit?

CH Combat Stick USB and Ch Pro Pedals USB, only way to go for me.  They work great, no spiking, and smooth control.  The plane flies like a dream.  I have also tried MS precison pro and MS Force Feedback and these sticks spike in here for me, give me nose bounce and give the plane a different "feel" when flying

The rudder is a rocker type thing on the underside of the throttle.  The throttle has 2 rotaries which you can program as needed.  The stick isn't that hard to program, heheee and it is a good thing too as I have changed mine many times and prolly will reprogram as things progress here in AH.

I am learning the finer points of programing this stick, and for the most part it works great (atleast a lot better than my last one)
