If you download any of these skins, be sure to place them directly into the "skins" folder where your game is installed on your computer drive.

Whenever I download to the skins directory from these posts, when I go into the MA, those skin selections still show red in the hanger. I still have to allow the auto download to happen while in the MA to get them to show up even though that file is sitting in my skins directory. Is there some file I need to delete so the game on startup does an inventory to make them available in the MA?
Just looked in the skins folder and here is what happens.
spit5_2.res <------- file I downloaded from this forum in the morning July 10 2018.
spit5_2 (1).res <--- file downloaded later that day 3pm in the MA.

bustr, you only need the "skins.res" file from the server before any new skin releases to be useable online. That file should come down pretty quick after you log into the game. That file contains the information about what skins can be used online.
Also, make sure you are putting them in the correct folder. There is also a chance the file(s) may not be copying as binary files as most browsers do not know what they are. If that is the case you are pretty much stuck.
You can try downloading the "skins.res" file directly. http://dload.hitechcreations.com/skins/skins.res
Again though, if your browser tries to download that as an ASCII file, then it will do no good either.

What I did yesterday worked well.
1) download each of the skin files listed in the thread
2) move the downloaded skin files to the skins directory (copy with replace)
3) in this skins directory, find and rename "skins.res" to "skins_10Jul18.res"
4) log in to the game
You get a new skins.res file right away, the the new skins were available and not in red text

Or just delete the "skins.res" file. The game will always replace it with the most current one.

I'm using a 3rd party add-on downloader for Firefox. I will do a test with that spit5 skin by deleting the res files and the skins.res. Then download it using the nativedownloader from Firefox. There was a time this did work with Firefox.

Bingo....I will have to use the native downloader in Firefox.
