LOL, just remember yer behind me Bronk. Since you are calling for the Spit XII, I'd consider letting you in front. Toad and his B-25 for Dad should be first in line though I would agree. As long as it's a B25C/D Strafer:)

Consumer Warning -
This Scotch is so fine that you might sell your mother/wife/children for a 2nd bottle.

Chilled? Are you mental??? :O :O Good single-malt whisky is never chilled and should never be contaminated by ice, water or anything else.
Certain blended whiskies may benefit from ice, but never a good single-malt
Scotch is like wine - different occasions demand different whiskies. However, if I could only have one more bottle, it would be a 20 year old Springbank. Or possibly a Talisker. Or maybe a Highland Park. Or perhaps....
By the way, its Burns Night next week (the 25th) - the perfect excuse to dust off your favourite bottle and raise a dram in memory of the bard.

I dont know about you, but I would need to be pissed if I worked for HTC and read these boards each day
Infact I heard a rumor that Waffle's welcome gift from HT was an AA membership...
I also heard that it wasn't a "coffe" Skuzzy was going for when he tripped over the server power cord, and thats why he tripped
:p

i was gonna say "kill him", but remembered that the best and only way to enjoy whisky is to drink it the way one prefers it.
So instead i say "bottoms up" ! :aok

I'd like to see the full range of B-25s again. That used to be really cool in that *other game*. Big-ol 75mm, all them .50s... neato.

The only pitfall with that plan is......
I might "intercept" that package before it gets down the hall.

actually, whiskey is from Ireland, scotch from, well, guess we can figure that one out, burbon from Kentucky.... unfortunate for jack daniels as made in tennesse. to further elaborate.....american whiskey, generally known as burbon....though only kentucky officially allowed that title, is made with corn....hence a sweeter tasting whisky. also it is only distilled 1 time. scotch is distilled 2 times and features a "smokey" flavor, which comes from the fuel used to cook the mash. finally irsish whiskey, my personal favorite followed closely by scotch, is distilled 3 times and cooked with a smokless (not sure if that is a real word) fuel....hence no smokey flavor. both whiskey and scotch are made with barley:) i have more, but i get carried away at times:)
oh also, couldn't let this slip, all whisky made in the U.S has to be aged in a brand new keg. which is another reason, imho, scotch and irish whiskey taste better.

He's probably saying the Scots learned distilling from the Irish, which is true. However, the Irish most likely learned it from English missionary monks.
The latest information indicates the English monks developed the practice so that in the distant future HT could be persuaded to add the B-25 Quitch to AH before it's too late for my dad to fly it here as he did in New Guinea.

ya, couldn't remember for the life of me where the irish monks learned it from. i do know that the Normans, who where not exactly welcome guests in Ireland, where credited for spreading whiskey from ireland. they also dubbed the word whiskey as they could not pronounce the gaelic version. back in the day....irish whiskey was far more popular than scotch, though in relatively recent history, with the 2 world wars, prohibition in the US, and unrest in Ireland, scotch became more available and more popular. Of note, once supplies are get cut back, it takes a long time to restore inventory, as the with the long maturation process.
i'm sure there is more, but my brain is fried atm. i will say the monks where indeed brilliant to understand the potential of whiskey as a bargainig chip:)

I'll give a bottle of Glenmorangie to anyone who lets me shoot 'em down in the MA just so I finally get a kill..JK, I'll get it eventually, but that Glen is good stuff!;)
