OK, on this thread (https://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,400101.0.html) it got me thinking. "What if we could name the streets?" What would you name them?
Here is a picture of the town. The streets are laid out in colors to show the full street, and each is labeled with a letter.
Just for fun, What names would you add to the town if you could?
G1= "Skuzzy Circle" as he was wont to be going in circles.
B= "Hitech Way" as he just runs strait through town as the Main street
F1= "Fugi's Corner" as nobody goes near there
What do you got??

Kelton avenue
Scavenger street
GonZo lane
Pyro alley
Rosie road
Waffle's view
Suggesting anything named for myself would be the height of arrogance (Arrogance Heights)

If HTC uses player names it should be players who have passed away.

Good idea FLS

One of them would be Sudz Drive, or Sudz Blvd.

My memory is a bit fuzzy but I think Fighter Ace did something like this, naming buildings after past players so when you destroyed them their name came up. Or was that in AH2? Bah, who needs a memory anyway!!
I think care needs to be taken here and street names need to be unique to each town layout. Otherwise players will get confused which way to turn at an intersection.
-
Just name the streets after the aircraft names.
Mustang St.
Messerschmitt Way
Corsair Ave.

But make it Ports Forts/Camps (Vehicle Bases) and Fields :D
I miss Whels :cry
and Arc and Lonewolf and Grizzly and 11bravo and Buzzard and RTR and ....

Before the great suggestion, I thought of naming a building “Chill’s Dive Bar” since I have ended many a softie there (especially in P38s).
Shoutout to Fugitive (give the piggies a holler or squeal for me)! Bentnail Crossing has a nice ring to it :pray

I think that's a nice thought, but there might be too many for all the streets.
-
My first reaction is that it would be great if you had the map to id GV location in the town. In that sense I think its a great idea, he's not at the flag, he's at Rosie Blvd and Scuzzy lane/.
-
Great idea to name streets to help with coordinating attacks/defenses.
Lot's of good possibilities for naming. I support a few mentioned and some others or a combo of these...but not limited to.
1) game developers.
2) long time players that have passed while still subscribers.
3) Map Makers. (IF you make an approved and circulated map)

There needs to be a Wammo Way Fugi. :aok

While I think "memorial" street names might be nice, how would you pick which ones make it? If you check Fallen Friends (https://bearcats18.enjin.com/rip), unfortunately that list is a bit long.
Personally I think HTC crew past and present should be there, with the rest as a bunch of wacky names. AHII had some fun ones...
Volche
Hordes
Hoer
StabMe
Runn
Supfile
RuelFour
Some others might be
Pickr
Porkr
LwnDart
Collision way
Milks Run
Campr
OneShot
Bombs Way
What else can ya'll think of?
-
You trying to get Hitech to bring back the late AH2 town object? Might be nice to have it and the AH3 one both around the maps.
-
One way to reduce the number of names for consideration would be to memorialize players who have passed and also made a contribution to AH.
I'm not saying this should be done but Fugi asked for ideas.
-
To what end. It would just slow things down (frame rate) I think. I am sure someone will let me know in a kind way.
-
like it was mentioned in the link of the OP, AHII had streets named on the town. Usually it was a sign on the side of the building at the intersection. In AHII many GVers used the names to coordinate attacks.
Here, were just talking "what if"

Hmmm... if that includes folks from the WarBirds days, what about "Carrot Court" ?
-
In Air Warrior Fields used to be named with Player Names also. I think that may have been AWII. Hell.....I can't remember.
