Title: Dark instrument panel
Post by: ONTOS on September 04, 2016, 01:53:41 PM
The instrument panel is too dark at certain angles to the sun. Even going toward the sun, the panel should not be so dark you can't tell what the gauges are showing. I have worked with gamma, results were not good. Thank you.

Disable post lighting effects, or just the shadows.

Check the brightness setting on your monitor.

Have done that IamADot and FLS. Still too dark. Thanks for the reply.

Do as IamDot suggested, disable Post Lighting Effects in the AH3 graphic settings.

What planes, specifically, are you seeing this? I don't think it's bad, but I don't fly every plane. One of the post effects that I think make a big difference (in case you want some of the effects active) is bloom.

Most of the planes. Japanese planes seem to be ok. The problem is when the plane is at different angles to the sun. If the sun is behind the plane, the panel is ok.

Sounds kind of like real life.

Sounds kind of like real life.

This. I don't need to see my gauges in most situations.

It maybe real life, but not that real. Personally, I like to see the gauges once in a while.

IRL you have instrument lights you can turn on, and we should be able to do that here also.

Having a HUD display is nothing like real life in a WWII aircraft… I agree the instrument panels are way too dark.

I'd like to have the instrument lights on all of the time. Or at least a switch to turn them on if needed.

I do not care if the panel I dark, so long as I can read the instruments. I find most of the time they are hard to read because they are dark. Only about 25% of the time, I cam make them out.

Same here, way too dark. The gauges are also very blurry compared to ah2.

I have post lighting and anti-a off, env @ 0, fov 104.

If any of those are on, I can't read them at all. They look like they would if you open your eyes underwater.

Agreed...  it's like the game assumes you're 50 and forgot your reading glasses...
