Here is a template mission I built for new mission makers. It is a 1 vs. 1 spit5s still in .mis file format, so you will have to open it up in the M.E. and "build" it yourself into the final .res file. It takes place on my Joust terrain (included), as it was created as a pure dogfight terrain. Now brand new mission makers will have a basic setup to start working from & learning the M.E. :salute

Cool and thanks.. I'll try it out right now. :salute
EDIT; Works beautifully! FINALLY Thank you very much!!

Thanks a ton Ranger! Will these routes work with WW1 planes? I'm hopin so. :rock
-
Yep. WW1 planes will work fine. Might take a little longer for the sides to merge tho. What you would have to do is slow the mph speeds down in the segments tho to match the slower speeds of the WW1 planes. I believe the plane speed on the segments is at 200-300 for the spits, so they would need to be brought down to like 70-80 mph. Maybe changing a segment before the merge to a warp segment would help them get to the fight faster. I'll try to whip up a WW1 template mission tonight to make it easier for others. I made this for others to learn the basics from, where they can add numbers & types of planes, events and other goodies without worrying about syncing up the 2 sides for the fight. :salute

One thing though...

No problem though, I changed it on my end.

I basically think I'll never be able to understand this editor, but is this starter mission complete? I wanted simply to change it into a 109F v spit 5 mission, I changed the planes but when I tried to build a res library all I get is a .mis, not a .res. What else needs to be done to this starter mission to make it work?
-
The .res will be in your MISSRES folder. It's all auto. When you build the .res, you can go right into offline, load the mission & play.
-
never mind got it to work, may be hope for me yet.
-
can someone please post up a link to the .res version of this mission?
-
It is posted in .mis format so that you, the end user, can customize it with whatever combatants you choose, then save it as a .res file. To do this you must download the mission editor from the main page.

I just downloaded and installed the mission editor. The moment I attempt to run the mission editor application, it crashes.
I assume this is related to other posts on here about the mission editor needing to be updated so it runs with the current version of Aces High. So I wont be able to do anything until that happens, I am guessing.
