I will not mention any names but there are several GV'ers now who drive from the spawn over to the battlefield with their turret facing the wrong way.
I do not believe this was historically accurate and these players should cease and desist to stop purportedly illegal activity.

There must be a good reason to flout the rules so recklessly.

:rofl
Thanks for the tip. :aok
I just did some practicing in the MA to a camped spawn point. After 3 deaths I left as I only saw the guy once the whole time.
I'm sure I'll die plenty in there next time too, but maybe I'll have a better chance now. :)

I think tank's driving with their turret's facing backwards, is when they are in Bazarro World. I think.
-
Must be polish if they are doing it backwards :D

<SNIP> polish <SNIP>
The word polish has it's meaning completely change just by capitalizing the first letter :aok
-
Driving in a ww2 tanks with the rear front is close to suicide, it's armor is at it's weakest there (except a few brittish and french early tanks), You also have problems using your normal -10 depession of gun you want to use to hide you hull.

Most useless complaint thread/mediocre troll thread I've seen, to date. :aok

Not true, when it's backwards the turrests rear armour goes in the same direction as the shell... like a plan on a conveyor belt... so it's effectively thicker.

I found I went faster each time I fired a round.... the unfortunate thing is when I got to where I was...Faster I might add...I had no rounds left to fight with...
My next plan is to drop some sups at a town.. and rocket boost from the spawn to the town in my M4...

Battle of Khafji
Just sayin :D

I have been thinking about challenging you to a rocket race with M-4's. That should be a hoot. :rofl :rofl :rofl
But, as you mentioned.................... ............................. .... put out lots of supps.

There is zero reason to hit the turret !
First, Understand what happens if an antitank shell hits the engine compartment IRL during ww2 :
It enters through the very light back armor, not angled, that is 20-40 mm thick, (front equivalent might be 100mm plus) and hit the engine and or fuel tanks , with very hot fragments rupturing the electrical lines and and other important stuff- causing fires, and you have to evacuate the tank pronto (as most tanks used only handheld fire extinguisher).
If the shell (like pretty much all axis ammunition used ) have explosive content, you will have a recepie for a very quick disaster.
Best way to protect a tank is by angle the front of the tank against the threat, and zigzag your way to target area at speed.
I served in tank on an off for 13 years, as a tank officer - as a tank platoon leader if war should occur.
I crewed the IKV 91, S-tank, and to a lesser extent - the Centurion 101-102.
Use the max gun depression of a tank, it will make you a smaller target and harder to spot, specially if you can camouflage it.
I never played tanks when I played AH, but I have more than a clue about RL.
-
Yeah but did you ever drive a tank on a conveyor belt?
-
I sprint over hills where there is an enemy tank just on the other side.
You pop over with the turret backwards and drive past putting rounds into a guy trying to turn his turret around.
