I installed it fine, had to download 2 dlls, but I get an error about ddraw.dll...
Specifically;
"The procedure entry point DdEntry12 could not be located in the dynamic link library DDRAW.dll."
What does that mean? I had to download ddraw.dll from a website, but i still get the error.....
-
You need directx 8.1 or better, if your system doesn't support it you ned a new system.
-
Ah okay!! I thought i'd had it, but i had to reformat and only have 7!!
-
Okay, that fixed the dll prob. Now I cannot select my video card from the options display.
-
thats normal in current beta but has no ill effect
-
actually it does cause a prob for me. At least i think that is the source of the prob;
"Initialization failed with -3
mainGR3D_FAILED -1"
-
"Initialization failed with -3
mainGR3D_FAILED -1"
I get the exact same message...

I got it to run on a 750Mhz amd duron with gforce2 MX400 4x agp, but it was so slow I cant imagine runing it on anything less.
-
Hmmmm... Maybe the minimum graphics card memory is 64 MB?

the game needs 512 mb memory to run pretty well.
-
512 MB?!?!?:eek:
Hate to say it, but 'Lock-On: Modern Air Combat' (which has excellent AI enemies in both air and ground vehicles, very realistic flight-model and graphics that in my opinion, are better than AH2) is said to run well on 512 MB.
So...............?
I don't quite know how to present this question in a way that reflects my respect of the HTC team, as programmers, yet hints at my wondering WHY a 'relatively simple' (term used very loosely) game requires such horse-power.
So, not meaning to be offensive, but still... There it is.

Its because the flight model is much more complex and therefore more realistic than any other flight sim that I've ever seen. Also the overall complexity of the game.
