i have seen almost no sun in what 5 days!!!!!!!!!!! it is all just this irerrie orange everywhere no sun what so ever. sun is just a red dot that is quite hard to see.

Luck to y'all down there,...as much as I hate Californians in general (Primarily the rich that infiltrate Montana)...I wish this sort of catastrophe on no one.

Actually this has been one worst case scenario after another.

1. Bark Beetle infestation kills about 30% of the trees in the local mountains.
2. No rain for about 8 months after a pretty wet year = lots of dry vegitation.
3. Extremely dry conditions (humidity down to 14% at one time)
4. Santa Ana winds - Hot winds out of the East kick up the fire for about 4 days.
5. Just as the fires reach a lack of fuel... the winds change to an On-shore flow and BAM! Fires go the other way.
6. Higher humidity should help, but the Marine layer hinders water bombers.

Almost the entire population of our local mountains has been evacuated... never seen anything like this.
