Hi,
I just had my computer reformatted, and after downloading AH again everything is fine except that the game doesn't recognize my Nvidea 3 video card.
At start up a screen pops up letting me select the video type I want, but the nvidea is not there, the only thing is the microsoft "generic" driver. (sorry Im not too clear there).
This only lets me play at 800x600 resoloution, although in setup I selected a higher one.
Can you please tell me how to get AH to "see" my Nvidea card?
thanks

Right click on my computer / go to properties / then to device manager
click display adaptors .... beshure your video card is reconized here ,,, if not you need to reinstall your video card drivers
you can also go to start/run/ and type in dxdiag
thats the diagnostic program to test video/sound/and direct x

Thanks for the reply,
did this and the nvidia card is there, went to properties on it and it says the device is working properly. Drivers are from July 03.
Any other ideas?
thanks

I would recommend you download the 30.82 version of the Nvidia Drivers for your O.S. from the Nvidia web site under archived drivers. They will work better in AH with a Nvidia 2 or 3 series card. The later ones are not so good with earlier Nvidia cards 1,2 & 3 but work fine with series 4. Though later ones are supposed to be universal earlier cards run better with more fps with the 30.82 in AH.
Change you video adaptor in settings to standard PCI vga in advanced video settings in control panel,(you can select it by using the manual selection from a list depending on OS) but definitely uninstall your current Nvidia drivers from add/remove before the reboot. Before doing so set your screen to the lowest res and colors in settings. By installing the standard vga driver it should give a clean install of your new driver.
Install the 30.82 drivers. Reboot
Now Re-install either DirectX 8.1 or DirectX 9 whichever you have. Most important to re-install directX after your new vid driver install!
Run dxdiagnostics from the run command box using "dxdiag" typed in the box. Check all is well, and while there, reduce the sound acceleration in the sound tab in diagnostics also one notch left-it will help with vox.

Just a thought, but did you install the motherboard drivers first?
