Text looks great. Don't know what everyone else is talkin' 'bout. :D
P51 NE engine off no tracers: 35 FPS
Fire both weapons: 34 FPS
Level at 3K: 45-55 FPS
Fire both weapons: 45-53 FPS
It is difficult to judge FPS at 3000 feet because the triangle count changes so drastically. Maybe we should test at a higher alt?

ati 8500 here. same as the rest of the ati's blocks of solid colors where ever text is suppose to be, 1991 beta text was fine. did take off though and did still see lag when i fired guns as planes went by on rmy. too off and seen some laggy movement but not at 3000, a1 is over 3000 ft . i did it at 4000 , seen lag also when I was looking with hat switch, but i guess radeons are not up to par so guess i will be out of this test till i can see, fps showed lag movements though just like 199.1. So i will take it radeoans will still do bad so far, you not working for Gforce are you....lol making us go to a lesser card than radeon, i smell payola... (kidding)

Negative on my PC boss. With or without the thing checked the fonts are hosed... just red and green background. tried multiple resolutions and various video settings... all negative. Deleting the video config file did no good. Will fixed patch be released right away?
-
Grizzly uncheck D P T in vid settings before you click offline.
-
Athena and I both have ATI cards, so we can't do the test either because of the solid color blocks where text should be.
-
Same on my box. With both tex setting on or off just boxes for text and icons. Flew around a but and FPS seem a little slow cant tell for sure cause of text problem. The trees however WTFG they look great. You get a great feeling of flying over them. AH2 is gonna be the shiznits.
Keep up the great work HT and crew =S=
-
On my system which is very close to the Htc base system, all the text is visible, no red/green block and the black background I had around all the text is gone. Looks like their moving in the right directions but need to tweak it a bit for the ATI cards.
I see hitech posted about the fix for the ATI cards.
I'll wait to see if we get a "1.992 Frame Rate Tests" sticky before I post results. Besides, I'd like time to fly. :D

Rgr that fixed it :aok

Framerates with my Radeon 9700 were significantly improved with this version. Previously, fps would average about 25 while flying, and thus be slightly visibly choppy. It's now completely smooth at all times during flight, but firing guns still hits fps hard. Can't give any actual numbers though, because I get that text problem too.
Nice work on the performance optimizing so far though.

Clear the check box for pallettized textures.
It worked for me.

AMD XP2400+ (266) (but at 133 x 12.5 = 1.666Mhz)
GF FX5600 256DDR (quincunx AA + anistropic off + medium intellisample + enabled fog emulation @ high image)
512RAM (133)
SB5.1
Old Proview770 monitor(needs gamma (set to 3 on nvidia)to be used can barely see screen at AH Gamma 1 (requires 2.5 minimum))
All clipboard map, crtl i, crtl d, icon and hanger text blocked out.
Tracers not visible.
Terrain overlay shading is visible producing an angular patch work at certain altitudes.
Did not find any soft objects........but did not chek them all.

Never had it checked to begin with, so that can't be it. HT said he had a fix for it already, I'll just be patient.
-
no probs on my end:)
-
Radeon 9800Pro
The disabled palletised textures option has absolutely zero effect on this problem, in fact it had no effect on the black boxes for text problem either.
It appears it only works with Nvidia based cards.

Still having problem with "freezing/flashing" screen in flight. Seems like a frame or group of frames is being missed.
Have no idea what CM mode does to begin with, so didn't test. :)

No problems with text, saw the stutter, didnt find any thing with the view.
Did notice a FR drop over the trees, usally about a 3-4 FPS loss
but the FR drop while firing was the same amount.
Side Note: I like the trees a lot...... But are you going to model the recovery team for me when I get my Tiger stuck between tree trunks? And, are you going to charge me the whole future value of the tree if I scrape the bark off of it?
