I operate a vBulletin and Invision BBS. I really like Invision over the others. Plus, it's free. :)

Ok, I have checked out phpbb, YaBB SE and invisionboard.

It looks like it may take some time to understand how all this works.

Any tips on who i shuld choose, who is simplest to setup and manage?

My webhotel supports php and i have plenty of room.

Thx again :)

her er en grei en siden webhosten har mysql/php osv....
bruk phpBBS :)

http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php

ok easy way to do it is :

1. Decompress the phpBB 2 archive to a local directory on your system.

2. Upload all the files contained in this archive (retaining the directory structure) to a web accessible directory on your server or hosting account.

3. Change the permissions on config.php to be writeable by all

7. 4. Using your web browser visit the location you placed phpBB 2 with the addition of install/install.php, e.g. http://www.mydomain.com/phpBB2/install/install.php, http://www.mydomain.com/forum/install/install.php etc.

5. Fill out all the requested information and hit Submit

6. Change the permissions on config.php to be writeable only by yourself

7. Click the Complete Installation button or revisit the location you entered above.

8. phpBB 2 should now be available, please MAKE SURE you read at least Section 8 below for important, security related post-installation instructions.

yeah and dont get drunk before friday :D hahahahhaha

Well it is not that hard just looks a little bit scary, if you fail once try it again.

Think I had 3 tries before it worked and it was all about my username and passwords on the server i rented.

edit:  you also have to enable phpbbs on your server if needed.
And if needed you can get a Norwegian set of it too, but i guess you need a English one ?:

To install a language pack simply decompress the downloaded package into the languages/ directory. It will immediately become available to all users.

Do not forget to download the related subSilver package, this contains localised button images for the default subSilver style. These should be decompressed in the templates/ directory. Support for these is automatic when the appropriate language is utilised.

Remember when decompressing the package that you must retain the directory or folder structure. If you are unsure how to do this with your software please check its documentation. Failure to retain the directory structure will result in the language not being available.
