I am just wondering why nightime was taken out of the game. I'm not refuting HTC's decision to do so, I am just curious why it was taken out?
As most of you are well aware, night raids were a very imporant part of the air war in WWII and helped to win the war.
Just curious, would you like night time to be reintroduced? I, for one, would very much like to see it for at least two hours a day.

This game actually had nighttime? That'd explain my confusion when I saw the sun go down and promptly come back up again a few minutes later... I can't see the reason why it'd be taken out.

HT said the other day in MA ,that they had experienced lower numbers than average in MA at night, and thus they removed it (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

Ram, I heard something similar to that last night from on eof the players online. Evidently too many folks logged off when the arena went to night mode.
I liked night-time myself.

a buncha babies crying for realism hauled arse when they got it with the night time. IMO the only thing missing from the night was the tell-tale exhaust to tell you where to shoot (like the neon billboard isn't enough of a clue).
They'd leave the main arena and go to the spec events arena or the training arena (or even sit offline for 20-30min of night time).

Definitely want it back. What good is having the Lanc when it's natural environment has been compromised. I really don't know why anyone would log off for the half-hour or so of darkness we had. It lasted such a short time. I especially want it back so we can use it in scenarios and such. Please, HtC...bring on the night.

P.S. I was on-line when HiTech made his remarks in the MA about the absense of night. He said is was all of three lines of code to put it back in, but could not be toggled on and off; i.e. hard-wired into the code. My question is, how hard would it be to make that another arena-configurable item, such as wind for example.

Night with changing moon phases, full to new - please. I thought the darkness added a good variation to the game. Plus it made you a better shot during the day.

Yes, please bring back the night. I only got to fly in it once or twice, but its another one of the features that made me pick AH over other sims.

Currently we do not have a single piece modelled in the game that was used for night operations - no radars, positioning systems, nightfighters, illumination bombs, resistance fighers lighting their lanterns, etc.
For god's sake, we don't even have the area targets - the only reason any operations were performed during the night.
How about insertion of the commandoes and dropping the supplies for the resistance movement? Well, we don't have them either and the planes used for those operations.
Asking for night before asking for night-related stuff in the game is like asking for torpedo loadouts before asking for ships...
Give HTC time, guys...

I honestly dont see WHY night time was taken out! It was the most fun part! Night time tank battles were amazing (since tanks were CHOG-free muahaha!), night bombing and interdiction was adrenaline-pumping!
I've said it before on many other threads and I'll say it again:

Get rid of dot dar on all but night fighters (read: radar equipped fighters).
Most of the current planes in the set have night fighter mods... hell, the Lancaster was essentially a NIGHT BOMBER.
Ju-88, P-38, FW190, B26, and many more had night fighter mods...
Just think about it! Daylight for the B-17 & B26 bombers with escort and the furballs we all love and the night for tank battles, night bombing & radar night fighters!

My computer sits by a window that lets in tons of light, even with the drapes closed. The screen glare makes seeing anything during AH's night impossible.
Don't get me wrong, I love the night (when it's dark in my area) and wouldn't mind seeing it brought back. I also didn't mind sitting out for the half hour or so until the sun rose again.
I just thought this might explain why the numbers drop off a bit.

Did any of the fighter aircraft currently in the arnea operate at night?
Would night fighting be possible without icons? Not more diffucult... POSSIBLE?
There may eventually be a need for night time.. just not in the MA and not with the current plane set.

well i did not fly night very often i would normaly log or hop into a m16. but i thought night was a good idea. it was only 30 min long. when i did not want to fly at night i would just go read the posts.

LOL. Realistic night with icons at 9k (6k now) distance and ability to bomb with pinpoint accuracy from 30k.
Bring night fighters, night buff with all equipment for night warfare, lights for landing fighters at nights, searchlights over the cities etc. and I will eagerly wait for the nights and vote for it. Till that pls. spare me from such comments.

Even the first wwII flight sim I played back in the 80's "Their Finest Hour" had a night time . Sounds like taking away night was a concession to gamers. Maybe someday we will get a historic arena and we can have night and no icons and the gamers can stay in the pork arena .

Lancaster Mk III: More electronic devices and radars than you can poke an antennae array at.
Ju 88A-4: A/S series bombers, C/G series nightfighters with radar
F4U-1D: F4U-2 nightfighter with radar
F6F-5: F6F-5N nightfighter with radar
P-38L: A few J,L single-seat conversions, P-38M two-seater with radar
Me 109G-6: /N nightfighter with radar detector
Fw 190A-8: /R11 nightfighter with radar
