I came home from a weekend trip and found Norton freaking out over this POS that had infiltrated my computer the day before I left. It's stuck itself in the common files folder and cannot be deleted. Apparently it's a rather basic Trojan Horse but Norton Antivirus 2004, with all the updates isn't doing jack as far as removing it. I'm far from a computer whiz but never considered myself retarded either. This thing is making me want to take a baseball bat to the CPU (to the joy of whoever implanted the TH in the first place. Please help.

What is the virus name?
Have you checked on McAfee's site (http://www.nai.com)? They may have a free 'Stinger' removal tool for it. Btw I have a better experience with McAfee than with Norton...

Thanks for your suggestion but I seem to have finally gotten rid of it. It required safe mode and disabling system restore but looks like the thing is gone now. Will definitely go to McAfee next time though. Thanks again.
