Hey talk about your exciting kills here!:p
Heres my story... I was leaving in my la-7 from some field dont remeber which one. We was fighting at an enemy field trying to take it. Us being (Knights) and i think they where (Rooks or Bishops) oh well dont matter. :) I climed to maybe 1 to 2000k in air not very far ill say but i saw the battle. It was a small furball so i had to be carful. Then i dived on the furball! I quickly saw another la-7, the enemy la-7 had broke off one of our guys because he could`nt get to turn fight him. He broke by back flipping in air when he was almost nose down to the ground he eased it out smoothly but closly to the ground. Bearing on the furball I decided to close on the la-7. Following it, i decided to shoot. I missed! Cause the la-7 to break in a defensive posture. He started to turn to the left and i followed. Maybe 10 to 5 mins later i was still following the la-7... Funny thing is he was still going in a circle making a donut! hehehehe I only had 56 to 53 bullets left. Then decided to kill him. He got tired so he tryed to do a back flip. Well well well to bad for him! I got the upper hand, i took and tryed the backflip like him well i stop in middle air. And he ran across my crosshairs and I fired shooting off his wing or i think back tail. Oh and to my suprise 2 other la-7s where following me! Well i died. Mowahahahahahahhahaha still got him!

A 152 swooped in on our furball and I hosed off a few prayer rounds at 900 yds as he was pulling away (I was in an FM-2). I got a lucky ping and he panicked and blew a bunch of E, then we ganked him. He bailed at about 5k and tried the HALO technique to get to the ground safety, but I blasted him out of the air before he could open it. That will teach him to go around with dynamite in his shorts.

i remember seeing a mission up and i was in a 110, strafed the field 8 kills on one pass. then i augered. BEST MISHUN EVER

Was toolin' round in my trusty P40E when I saw an Fw190 diving on a friendly. Check 6'ed the friend and started a lead turn on the 190 at about 2k. He popped right into my gunsight at about 300 yards. He never knew what hit him :D.
-
I killed a 262, a 163, and a tempest in the same flight the other day, while in my pony. All easy kills except the tempest... sure wish I could remember who was in the Tempy so I could give them proper respect here.
-
Awww shoot... just remembered, I ended up getting an assist on the 163... apologies for my unintended exaggeration.

I popped a 163 and a SpitXIV the other day during the same sortie flying a Ki-61. Hylander was the 163, probably out of fuel, booming and zooming on his residual E. The SpitXIV driver was chasing some guy and decided that the Ki-61 2k below wasn't a threat... Until I zoomed straight up and waxed him. I don't recall his name, but I'll bet that he will pay closer attention to Ki-61s in the future.

Got as far as "my La7", got bored and went to watch the grass grow.

The most exciting fight I had was with Joc over a couple of ewes. I would have won if the fight if Joc didn't resort to giving wedgies.

In a KI61 about 5k when 2 NME 51's took turns b&Zing me with an Alt advantage.. I Cut throttle and hit the wing of the first 51 and he blazed into glory, then the second 51 in a last ditch effert
to avenge his wingman missed the merge and I pulled up and over right and caught his tail with my last 10 cannon rounds and the 2nd 51 went splash...
I flew home and landed with no fuel, 56rds of beans and not a scratch from the 51's...

A month or so ago, I rolled in a P40B, nailed a lone La7 a few minutes later. Grabbed to about 10k, saw a lanc formation. Took a bit to maneuver around the guns. They almost outran me :) Took three passes to nail all three. After that I happily vulched three more on recently captured field below. Fuel was short so I RTB. Glided 15 miles to a perfect landing and a crapload of "wow p40b?!" on channel 1. :)

i ran over a sheep with a panzer last night, what a mess.

i was doing a mission where we where gonna pork a base to hell on bish or Knight home land cant rember..the map was close to a reset and of course the rooks where in the lead..know this was a big mission... and i guess... the Bish/knights thought we were gonna kill there hq because the base we were attacking was only about 50-100miles away and there was a big dar bar in the sector next to bish/Knight hq...i was in a group of P51s covering the attack group that was gonna pork the base with P-47D-30's...we'll the P51D flight got up to about 25k when we lvl'd and circled the nme base that was getting attcked by P47s..when we (P51D's) saw like 15-20 Me-163's the 163's were a tad bit lower than us..so we picked up a tad bit of speed...we got in a furball at about 23k ...163's vs. 51D's...well it was a good furball but, the 163s were just to fast so they were killing us quickly..UNTILL :rofl i spotted 1 163 that ran outta fuel:aok ..he made a pass at a fellow wingman..and was all outta E.. so i dove in on his candy arse..and then he tried to go ovr the top to try to evade me but he was goin in to a stall and was almost stopped in mid air when i layed 6. 50 cals...in to his canopy..and blew outta the sky..know right after that i think i was the last 51 still fighting the 163's(btw the P47s were wiped out by this time by low nme fighters) when fresh 163s that had just enterd where turn fighting with me..i was doing pritty well until i tried to do a roll ovr with a 163 and he got on my arse then i tried to do some scissors to get him off me but like 2 or 3 pings from his cannons ripped my wings off..

Pure luck 90 degree deflection kill shot on Fester's 262 with a 190A5.
-
Running into two 262's low on E in my F4U-1, shooting down one, damaging the other. Pure luck.
Bouncing a P-38 dogfighting in my P-47. damaging him, misjudging lead because I was experimenting with tracers off, then being shot down by aformentioned P-38 flown by AKAK.
Pinging Taki at the top of a loop in my FM-2 (he in F4U) and killing him at D800 when he tried to run.
Merging with Fester at an insane angle, he got me with an impossible (at least for me) 30mm deflection shot. Wow.
Outscissoring a P-51 gaining on my P-47D11, flying him into the ground.
Killing two Niki's hopelessly chasing me in my P-51D by refusing to dogfight them and blasting them when they tried to get away. Was even on the phone for 15 minutes during that engagement. Pilots started calling me names too. Brilliant.
Running while low on fuel from a P-51D in my P-51B, P-51D attacks squad member in B-17 just taking off, killing P51-D, saved squadmates butt.
Getting a 13.5 % hit ratio when flying the G-10 with 30mm mostly.

BigIsles, we had just lost A22 off our mainland and our carrier assault had been repulsed by Bishops. The Bish air cover over A22 was making its way south to A20 so I traded in my LVT tank for a Yak-9U and rolled north over the water.
Just about the time I got feet wet I spot a Bishop F4U giving the final touches to a kill on a fellow Rook so I level out to engage. We merge head-on but I roll out and avoid any hits. I pull up into a vertical climb to re-acquire him and he does the same. He rolls inverted and loops over the top while I stay nose high to get on top of him. He goes down while I roll to the side to keep an eye on him. He goes nose up to bring his guns to bear and I pull off a barrel roll to come down behind him as he reaches the top of his loop.
He realizes the danger and goes does down to dive away. He gets the initial dive accelleration jump on me but there's not much air underneath us so I manage to stay within d1.5 of him. He starts to go into a horizontal scissors but I manage to stay with him, landing some shells along the top part of the fuselage as our flight paths merge. He continues to scissors on me and we weave back and forth. I land a few more hits. Nothing falls off and I overshoot. I climb up defensively to re-acquire him and he's hightailing it back to A22, on the deck.
He has a pretty good jump out ahead of me but I manage to close the distance to around d900. Remembering that I had tracers turned on from my LVT trips, I throw out some 12mm shells to spook him and I see a hit sprite along a wing tip. I throw out some more and see a hit sprite at the top of the vertical stabilizer. Still, nothing falls off. I pop a couple more rounds off at him and he goes into his vertical scissors routine again.
I managed to close now and he's losing his speed. We're on the deck, one on one. I land some more hits along the wing root, but no smoke, no debris. He rolls over onto his back...
... and passes through the water table.

Last night in the CT. The phone rang after I finished helping kills a few bad guys around A24. I go AFK and then hurry back and end up seeing a Ki-61 pulling airborne from his base. I am less than 50 feet over the hill top. So I pulled up on him and blasted him apart in my F4U-1D then barely outlasted an A6M5b that dove from 2.0 over me and stuck with me 400 IAS plus level and pinged away at my bird.

Flyin my typh over a furball we were loosing to an enemy field intent on taking out some strats. Get there to find only one FH and decide to take the last one out. Drop my bombs and make a second pass to gun the hanger down. Decide I need to make my escape now that the job has been done. Tons of bad guys all around, I manage to gun 2 out of the air as I make my high-speed getaway.
A La-7 is hunting me and closing slowly, if I engage now I'll be ganged and have my chute shot by the ten other bandits (most saw me gun the last hanger down) in the area. So, I stay fast and drag the La-7 out of the fight and let him close to about 800. Just one on one now and he thinks he's got an easy kill. Cut the throttle and begin to scissor. Watch as the La-7 passes me by without a shot but I've lost too much speed and begin to spin. Drop the flaps, pull out and scrape the sheep off my windscreen to see the La-7 looking for me. I pull a D600 deflection shot and score a hit on the wingtip, no damage. We loop back and forth twice more without yielding a gun solution until the La-7 makes the mistake and reverses direction behind me. I've already reversed ahead of him and quickly close for a D300 deflection shot. BAM, the 7 rips apart.
Furball is still, another hanger has come up, tons of cons all over the place but now it's outside their field instead of ours. Went back in shot the same guy down twice more (And only that same guy) before rtb'ing. He didn't say anything but I'm sure he thought I was calling his number after that!

Last night the Bish had a carrier parked off our mainland. I had already flown a couple of missions in a 109 and a Yak9U, so I decided to try a FM2 for some furball fun.
I climb out around 10k and go feet wet. The furball is getting hot and heavy as I enter the fray. An A6M5b is chasing one of my countrymen around so I go into a slight dive to try and catch them, which takes me awhile since I'm in an FM2. :p Eventually I get close enough to pop off a few rounds.
I score some hits on a crossing shot and see fuel start to stream out of his wingtip. I yank the stick and follow the fuel vapor trail back towards the direction of the Zeke. I get close and squeeze the trigger on my stick and the four .50 cals bark out their hot lead of death. The Zeke starts spewing dark black smoke and I can't see a thing, so I assume he's going down and call out "Ok, Zeke's down, you're clear". Seconds later my countrymen goes down and to my horror I discover the Zeke is still flying.
I reverse back down and re-engage. He goes into a chandelle and I re-engage in a climbing turn, pour on the WEP, and let my .50s cal reach out to him. His wing pops off and he starts to go down. AKCurly goes for a swim. :D
(http://www.hitechcreations.com/ahhelp/models/images/seafire.jpg)
Just about the time I start to feel good about myself, a Seafire draws in about d1.2 and forces me to go evasive. I do a barrell-roll to avoid the frontal shot and we start doing our looping fights. As we go around, an F6F zooms through and takes a pot shot at me. He lands a few rounds but nothing breaks. He speeds off into a climbing turn. I don't pursue because the Seafire is too close. I keep chasing the Seafire through another turn and the Hellcat blows through again. His guns chatter but he gets no hits as I roll out to change my turn. He blows the shot and climbs away. Bastage! I can't get a decent fight without someone ganging me! So I go around with the Seafire again but now I'm getting the advantage. All those turns to evade the Hellcat have put me in a better position to get behind the Seafire. So I do. I land some rounds and his wing falls off and he begins the descent into the water. Scratch another AK. :p
(http://www.hitechcreations.com/ahhelp/models/images/f6f5.gif)
Now I go nose down to get some speed. The Hellcat buzzes me again but this time I follow his flight path as he overshoots and starts his climb away. I hit WEP and go nose up. He's d400 or so and my guns are barking but I'm not landing anything (I really need to work on calculating lead on those deflection shots). I hear some .303s start to ping my airplane but I don't care - I want that Hellcat! "Just stay together a little longer baby!" I pray as I kick rudder and try to get the Brownings to swing over to the right some more. Then the hispano cannon rounds hit me and my wings separate from the fuselage. Miraculously, somewhere in all that flying and shooting, I managed to pick up another kill because I get a kill message just as I leap from the burning wreckage of my plane. Scratch another AK. :lol
And who got me? AKVaska.
Is there a limit on the number of AK pelts I can get in a single flight?

Try killing 5 SPit 14's in a temp never got above 4k. was the funniest sortie I ever had.

Dont know if the guy reads this. but i took his perk kill away.. I was in a 234 at a vh bombing it. when i saw a low spit 9 coming up to my rear. i hit the rocket boosts and lost him ...lol i always keep my rocket assists for escaping never for take off. cant hit anything with rear guns cause i cant see. didnt they have a periscope on them for firing to the rear..
i had this 9 kill streak i was going to land it was one of my first ones . i was soooo happy to . made it thru many fighters to head back to base. passed and snuck by them. made it past some flak pnzrs heading to field i picked.. was so happy about all that then just as i hit end of runway i killed engine to land faster to claim my kills seen that i forgot to lower landing gear just as i crash with a belly flop so much for braggin rights.
But i did have a conformed 11 kill sortie in a hurri 2 .
and one of my best i think i was in a yak with the 37mm had 6 kills and three asssits one flight. never did it again in almost 2 yrs first time up in it .
guess it was beginners luck in ct
and a 42 kill streak in tiger when it first came out and i was camping..lol dont think it is impressive a cause camping is really not hard . but i do give guys a run for the money in gv battles

I remember this one night. Some ******* was talking about how the P-51 is a better plane than the F6F. So I asked him if he would like to prove it. We agreed to a quick duel, 10K merge, guns cold. Well, that ******** came in at 12k. Good thing I was at 15K.
He got pissed that I shot him down and asked for another, this time really at 10k with a guns cold merge. This time we came in at 10k. As we merged, I took his wing off in a nice HO shot.
While the kills weren't that exciting, the text buffer was.

Perhaps, the single-most underrated aircraft in Aces High is the A-20G Havoc.
Not only is it a terrific attack aircraft, it is a sterling dogfighter as well. As I have documented elsewhere on the BBS, no fighter can match the dive acceleration and zoom climb of the A-20G. Combine that with a huge wing and a rediculous high speed roll rate, it can beat the living snot out of most of the plane set in medium to low speed dogfight.
It is also one of the deadliest snap-shooters in the plane set. Six fifty caliber guns grouped in the nose are utterly devastating having no convergence issues.
A couple of days ago, a huge furball developed over a Rook field when a Knit carrier set up shop off of the coast. When I arrived in the tower, about 40 aircraft were dueling from the CV itself to right over the airfield. Added to the mess was a constant stream of land based fighters from a nearby Knit airfield. Naturally, somebody sank the CV ending the fun. But, while it lasted it was great fun.
I spawned an A-20G with 25% gas. Dumped the bombs on the runway and joined the mob.
I have included a montage of screen shots from that furball. Take note of the airspeed and climb/descent meter. The secret of the A-20G is keeping it in its happy zone, between 200 and 300 mph. Only once does my airspeed bleed below 200 mph (just barely), and that was after out-zooming a faster C.205, forcing him roll out of the climb. Like I said, no fighter can escape the A-20G by going vertical. Even though most have a better sustained climb rate, combat is about zoom climb and nothing zoom climbs like the A-20G, not even the P-47, F4U or P-38. Especially not the vaunted top climber, the 109G-10. In a Co-E zoom from 1k behind, the A-20 hauls it in so quickly you have to pull off power to avoid an overshoot.
Even badly damaged, the Havoc is not an easy foe.
Yesterday, I was cruising at 6k near A43 on the Baltic map, busy helping a newbie sort out some problems via private channel. Suddenly, My A-20 starts taking hits, and I grab the joystick, and yank the big Havoc out of the line of fire. Too late to avoid damage from a 190. Kicking rudder does nothing..it must be gone.
Checking the damage I find I'm missing an elevator, the rudder, an aileron and a flap. To top it off, my #2 engine (right side) has been hit in the oil system. I spiral down to about 1,000 feet above the water, giving my attackers (two 190s and a Niki) the worst possible shot while gathering my thoughts on how to deal with these guys. There's another Rook nearby, and the Niki seems more interested in him, but both 190s are intent on finishing the A-20. Well, I'm gonna make them work for it despite missing more than half of my control surfaces and an engine about to quit.
One after the other, the 190s dive in from my high six, each time I avoid them trying to preserve my speed while they degrade their own. Without the right side aileron, roll rate is really slow, and my method of using rudder to initiate a roll is negated by not having a rudder. Nonetheless, even missing an elevator, the A-20 can maneuver with the Dora, who I force into an overshoot. He turns hard left and I commit for a 90 degree deflection shot. I don't miss and the Dora explodes just 50 yards off my nose. Meanwhile, the other 190, a D-9, is boring in for a shot. I avoid his attack and spotting the Niki sneaking in (who apparently killed the other Rook), I pull full back on the elevators.. I need just a hair more angle for a snapshot. Just then the damaged engine quits. Not able to pull enough lead, all I can get is a few hits on the Niki's tailplane. But that was enough to give him religion and he breaks for the deck. I really wanted that Niki...
Single engine now, my speed is falling off rapidly. I have to unload to keep my speed above a stall. Now I'm an easy target for the second 190. My beat-up A-20 takes some hits and quits the game.
Only after did I realize that I fought that whole engagement with four 500 pound bombs in the bomb bay! Stupid me!!

I might be tempted to try the A-20 this but I think I lack the skill. With 100% concentration I can barely hold my own in the G-10 (my new 'challenge'), damn difficult plane to shoot anyone down in but easy to get away in.
To be more realistic I never have met an A-20 that I could not kill, actually my first kill in AH was an A-20. But I'm prepared to believe a skilled pilot can make it work. Still, I believe Widewing gave the secret away and that is diving away to over 450mph. If during a pursuit the a20 cannot kill you must be able to get seperation and outclimb him, then finish him with superior E.
But doesn't the A-20 bleed energy terribly in hard maneuvering, like the Mossie? That is useless in the vertical...
I'm just an average pilot with about a year AH but I is the A-20 really that good or is it just Widewing's skill?
Only one way to find out, gonna up an a-20 and get me some fights.

What makes the A-20 so effective is the fact that most players have no clue of the plane's capabilities and are completely shocked when it does something they perceive is not possible.
Engaging a Havoc at altitudes below 10k can be a challenge if the A-20 knows the bomber's capabilities and limitations. Below 5k it's even tougher, because it's easier to control dive speeds at lower levels. Dive speed is the one real weakness of the Havoc. However, its dive acceleration is better than any fighter, so it is possible to run them down before you have to start killing E to avoid breaking the aircraft. I think that I've gotten really good at not overspeeding the A-20, yet I have still managed to fatally break two so far this tour, and safely ditched another that I had ripped the elevators from. In one case, I was hard after a P-51, easily hauling him in, but I had forgotten the four bombs under my wings, which promptly failed when I pulled lead for a shot.. The net result was my target got the proxy on me!:lol
Surprisingly, the Havoc does not bleed E as bad as one might think. It has 3,200 hp and enough weight to generate some impressive zoom climbs. Douglas used a relatively high aspect ratio wing, highly tapered with large ailerons. What that means is good climb, good turning and fast rolling for its size and configuration. Wing loading is less than a considerable number of the fighters in the game, as long as you keep fuel load to the minimum you need to complete the sortie.
Recently in the CT, they had a modified version of the Slot set-up that included the A-20G. It goes without saying that the A6M2 has no chance against the Havoc. At any time of the day, fully 1/4 of the Allied pilots were flying the A-20 as a fighter and the Zero drivers had their hands more than full.
I'm convinced that if the top pilots flying AH tried the A-20G, they would run up similar scores to that obtained in their favorite ride. All they would need to do is learn to control their speed downhill.
I believe the A-20 really is that good. However, I've killed A-20s with ease (while flying an A-20) when rather than maneuver, the pilot simply manned the rear guns.
My regards,
Widewing
-
I agree about the A-20's prowess as a fighter. Other than the P-38, it's the only other plane that I really have any measurable flying time in. As a turn fighter, there is almost no equal. Like Widewing said, a lot of pilots are surprised at the agility of the A-20 and how easily it can out turn most, if not all of the fighters in the game. I know last night those 3 Zekes I shot down were sure as hell surprised to see an A-20 reverse on them and able to stay on their tails no matter how many evasives they tried. And the forward firing .50s make short work of any plane, usually one burst kills.
While the top turret is basically useless in the A-20 due to it's very limited field of fire, it's fun to bring along a gunner if you just plane on using the A-20 as a fighter. While you are busy maneuvering and turning with the enemy, the top turret gunner just needs to point the guns upwards and he'll get a shot on the enemy plane through the turns. Also if you find yourself in a fight and a second bad guy shows up, the top turret gunner can make enage the second enemy while you're maneuvering with the first bandit.

I killed several B-17s and Lancasters tonight with the A-20. Those tightly grouped guns make it an awesome Buff killer.
I tried something different. I set up 1.4k behind a B-17. The pilot was already in his tail guns, having trashed a Spitfire trying to close from behind. He opened fire on me, but this rounds fell short. I raised the nose a bit and opened fire, lighting up the B-17 like Coney Island. One long burst obliterated it...
Six guns vs two guns, and no convergence to factor in. You can't do that with 30mm armed Bf 110, because the range is too great for the cannons. But, it's well within range of the concentrated battery of fifties.
I did a similar thing to a Lancaster. Except the range was only 1k and I worked the rudder back and forth, lighting up the Lanc from wingtip to wingtip. Guys, remember this the next time you're chasing Buffs with the A-20.

Not quite two.. :)
If it's a full formation that's six from just the tail, then the 6 from the ball turret which almost always has a shot on a 6 approach.. 12 vs 6 :p
If it was only one that's at least 4 firing on you.

Rude tried to steal a kill from me the other day but I messed it all up. I was SUPPOSED to have him kill shooter on me and THEN kill the con....but I had an itchy trigger finger.

No way! I can't believe that MANDOBLE would participate in a situation where he had altitude, numbers, and all possible advantages.
This must be a lie.

Ok I'll bite 8)
I was up looking for strat porkers in a 190 A5 when I came across an NOE mission.
There were 8 NOE 110s, after I got a hold on my salavation, I wiped my chin and dove in. Now 8 against 1 you would think they would have peeled off and ganged me. Luckly they didnt so they suffered the wrath. LoL what little wrath I have hehehe.
1 by 1 I pulled in behind the conga line and blasted em. They all jumped in their rear guns as if the rear gun in a 110 is at all effective. IT was like shooting the drones offline lol. I wish I could remember the squad it was oh well.
Outa bullets and all 110s and goon dead I RTB.
OK so it wasnt the most challenging run but it sure was a fun one.

FURBALL a44 a 262 had been rope a doping a bunch of fools that kept trying to climb up to him. I was low just furballing away when I got singled out. 262 zaps me while I am low and slow. I was fine with him poppin the fools climbing up to him but getting cherry picked like that just got on my nerves. So I up a d9 at a2. Wep up to 20k and go to hunt the bastage down.
I come into 44 level 20k 300mph. I see the 262 he just popped someone else. Hes on the zoom going straight up. I zoom in my view his canopy is turned away from me he has no idea I am coming. I barley had to move the stick as he topped out on his zoom. Hes just hanging there I can emagine his stall horn blaring he is looking back at all the dopes hanging on thier props trying to get a shot. Hes smiling ok whos it gonna be who my next biotch. The suddenly hes back in his tower wondering wtf just happened.
I do a smart victory roll. Dive down and land at 44. Reup my furballer and go back to having fun with a big smile on my face. Thinking ya who the biotch now.
