Title: P-38L Bomber variant

This would be a fairly easy model to include.

The P-38L bomber...

Removal of the forward firing guns
Addition of the bomb sight
Upgrading stores to carry 2 x 2000lb bombs

While we are at it upgrading stores on all P-38Ls to include the 2000lb bomb option.

Are you refferring to the 'droop snoop' variants? Those werent factory productions i believe, but rather in-field modified planes.

The 38L did carry 2X2k bombs..hopefully that should be added

With the increased use of the Lightning as a light bomber, the type was modified to carry in place of the forward-firing armament either a bombardier with a Norden bombsight in a glazed nose enclosure, or a "Mickey" BTO (Bombing Through Overcast) bombing radar in the nose with an operator station between the radar and the pilot's cockpit. These modifications were developed at the Lockheed Modification Center in Dallas, Texas. These so-called "droop-snoot" Lightnings were used to lead formations of P-38s each carrying two 2000-lb bombs which were released on instructions from the lead bombardier.

And yes I am referring to the droop-snoot's.

I recall Pyro stating that they were interested in doing a droop snoot P-38, but were unable to find any photographs of the bombardier's position.

Besides, a Mosquito B.Mk XVI would be better in every way.

I don't want formation P-38L droop snoots. I don't want a bomber Mossie. All I'm lookin for is a single P38L droop snoot carrying the correct ordnance.

Why ask for a bomber Mossie when we don't have a fighter one?
