NPR got $200 million from wife of McDonalds founder (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/washpost/20031106/ts_washpost/a6973_2003nov6)
Quoted from the article:
The couple had a daughter, Linda Kliber, who could not be reached for comment yesterday.
Allow me to comment on her behalf:
She gave HOW ******* MUCH to WHO?!!???
-
I was thinking the same thing.;)

I intend to leave my vast riches to the ACLU...doers of good deeds and protectors of America's way of life.

Cool. I'll just give mine to you. You can donate for both of us. :)

I always thought it was the "ACFU" (You can figure out the acronym) ;)
-
Tell me again how NPR is not biased?
Let's see....
Mrs. CROCK gives $200 Million to NPR...
1987 Mrs. Crock donates $1 million to Democratic National Committee.
Hmmmmm.....
Guess she is suffering from wealthy guilt.

It's their money to give, so what's the problem.
Maybe we could finally cut NPR off the public funds?

I'm quoting on behalf of their only daughter and inheritor of what is left of the estate.
Interesting that you said "their". The way I read this is that Mrs. Kroc inherited the money from her husband who died. When you say "their" do you mean Mr. and Mrs. Kroc...or Mrs. Kroc and her daughter?
-
I misspoke. The widow is the owner of this fortune and she can do whatever she pleases with it. Even give it to the government in a form of death tax.

The daughter gets only a part that is left to her in a will I believe.
-
The daughter ain't suffering either.
I think the estate was estimated at 1.2 billion.

Huh?
Where do you see that, or do you know something more than I do about the Kroc estate.
If you mean in general...you are wrong.

Probably not Muck...but I think that figure might be "before" mummy started giving it away. ;)
-
I think I read it that when the earner of the money died, the estate was worth 1.2 billion which was passed on to the sperm recepticle.

NPR executives spent the week trying to figure out what to do with the rest of the money at the chairman's villa:

You are trying very hard to not understand. I've said "public" money like in given by the government, not private donations.
I have no problem with people donating theri own money. As I said before everybody has a right to dispose of their money as they please. And that's what Joan Kroc just did.

I'll Fed Ex the receipt:)

Even Rush limbaugh gets donations. He can do what what he wants with the money, even support a habit.
-
Their money, they do what they want.. except burn it (thats illegal to my knowledge)
Although people should be more responsible with the money and donate it to me instead, I'd have much more use for it than NPR likes.
