Forgive my ignorance, not familiar with US stuff. If it was a Valentine X I'd recognise it, but it aint.
That doesnt look like a very big gun. What is this thing gonna be used for?

I believe it is the M8 Greyhound armed recon vehicle.
One 37mm cannon and one .50 cal machine gun.
This thing is fast for a armored vehicle. I dont have any data here at work but on improved roads it should move along at a good clip, maybe 45-55 mph.

Reconnaissance and/or protection of Land convoys? :)
Historically was a superb scout, very fast and reliable. Will be the faster GV, over the M16.
I would like to have a couple of those in front of any armoured attack I'm taking part in. :)

Train hunter? :D

Will .50cals kill it?
-
Prolly best as a M3/LVT hunter. .50 cal should kill it I would think, if not, definitely 20mm. Maybe it could kill a light tank up close. Just a fast GV with a light cannon.

Very light armor.37mm shold have little or no effect of panzer ,front better on rear or sides. It is also open toped.

I just got back from the local airshow, there was an M-8 there. I could have gotten a ride for $25.
Like Brady says it has halftrack armor and is overall not meant to take more than a rifle round. It has a co-ax .30 mg and a .50 on a swivel. The cannon looks wimpy and probably has a low rate of fire.

Looking at specs on the M6 37mm gun in the Greyhound and the armour specs of the Pnzr IV Ausf H, the Greyhound's 37mm with APC should be able to penetrate the Panzer's turret front from 500 yards and the turret sides/rear out to about 1500 yards. The Greyhound cannot penetrate the Panzer's front hull armour at any distance, but the hull sides and rear are vulnerable out to 2000 yards.
