Yes, its a turn based rpg.  Beautiful graphics; fully 3d.  Very addictive and immersive.

I don't have a clock in my office and as I was quitting SS Saturday night I was hoping that it wouldn't be any later than 2am.  Fricking 5:36 am.  Crap.

Has a free demo.  Check it out.

Familiar with the old XCOM games?  Is this along the same lines?  I loved those games; I downloaded the UFO: Aftermath demo a few days ago but haven't gotten around to installing it yet.

Downloading this demo now.

Heheh,

oops, I just realized the full game isn't supposed to be available in the states until January 2004.  Silly newsgroups.

Still, it's a ton 'o' fun.

With the smaller maps it'd be already a new kind of FPS game, where you could make your own holes in the walls, just change the 3rd person view to first person view and make it real time :D

The demo was cool. I loved the German scenario. I split the squad up, sending the machine gunner and the medic to the RHS of the train and made them go prone to wait for the next turn. Suddenly an officer and two soldiers stroll around the corner straight into line of sight of my MGer who had action points left over. All of them bought it.

The sniper system is alot of fun - you can determine how much time the sniper takes aiming his shot, spending as many action points as you want before pulling the trigger.

The grenades seem a bit strange though. You can sometimes 'rambo' a character at the enemy and take out 10 goons with grenades before he buys it.

Overall, it was a lot of fun.
