Post by: airguard on November 11, 2003, 08:46:42 PM
Sad but true, its going on again, but this is not only a BA problem i guess.
the flight from oslo to uk was delayed cause of the crew was drunk, and tested positive on alcholol tests

the whole story here for those who can read norwegian/swedish/danish:

In the 70's we used to travel back & forth from here to Indonesia (it wasn't a one flight trip like today, used to be 7 or 8 stops and plane changes back then).

During the flight from Teheran to Bombay, we were flying on a chinese airliner (a Boeing, don't remember what model exactly) our plane did a full roll, quite a few poeple were injured (My mum says there was a chinese guy sittin next to us who broke his leg). the pilot turned out to be completely pissed. I was about 4 years old, had lots of fun :)

Once on a flight from Seattle to Kodiak in the late 70's the pilot pulled out a harmonica and played Peg O' My Heart while dipping the wings to the music. Don't know if he was drunk, but I soon was.

While not acceptable, there's not too many accidents caused by intoxication and thankfully no big airliners are included.
