Whats the heck is happening in the MA ?
I see a lot of posts alluding to conduct to in the MA.
Recent Quote:
"You guys were tough and respectful opponents and it was a welcomed break from the usual arena atmosphere: "Die Pig!..."take this!"... "u killed me because I was watching TV".
I flew during the beta and for the 2 weeks.
I can, for the next little while, only fly H2H.(cash constraints)
So.. having not been in the MA for a couple months, and planning on being in the MA soon... My question is..
Is it that bad ?
It Sure didn't seem too bad, when I was in the MA.
When hosting H2H, I have had only 1 occasion when I had to eject a player for ignoring "no vulching, call IN, etc.
(rules where laid out as people "joined")
I had 1 player say that I was "1 of the few nice ones".
I had a hard time believing that helping newbies out... not vulching... not gangbanging... not stealing kills...calling 6.... etc. is becoming so rare.
Is there something to this ?
I was hoping that the Flight model/difficulty would "filter" some of these problems.
(with the assumption that the learning curve would remove the "Quake Players" from the game)
Anytime I've had people like this in my "host" H2H sessions, they have either; left due to not being tolerated, or cleaned up their act after being talked to.
Yeah yeah..I know
"I pay.. so I can do what I want"
What is going on ?
Is this a REAL problem or just the small one that normally exists.
No I'm not trolling.
Regards,
Snoopi

Well, there are some who whine, squeak, and moan when things don't go their way. The thing is, that I think this is the unsilent minority speaking here. I know there a lot of people in there that help people and genereally compliment people. I try, though I fail at times (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif), not to whine, squeak or moan. I honestly think most people do as well, they are just quiet and don't talk or have channel 1 squelched.
Oh well, I guess i should quit my incoherent ramblings and get back to being shot down repeatedly

Snoopi, don't worry, it's not as bad as it looks. But I fly this sim for only 3 months almost every day and it hasn't been 1 where someone would contact me in private or public and complain or even insult.
I got everything like :"no way BS"..."u warp"..."u invisible"..."u banged me"..."vulcher"..."*&^%$#@! piece of BEEP *&^$%" ...well we know all those ones already (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
I believe that most people are getting really involved in this sim because it looks realistic. Then when u fight with all your adrenaline and emotions, when u got shot down and did your best or a single mistake, u get really upset. I know that personaly I already thrown my joystick away, yelled or bang my fist on desk. But I could always contain my feelings so far.
I have people who insulted me because I shot them down from high. I got insulted by people who vulched me and somehow I could kill them. I got insulted by people who shot me down!!!
two days ago, I shot down someone and he got incredibly mad. So mad that he dedicated his next couple of flights he went kamikazee in all P47 he found. After 1 hour of getting mistreated on private chanel, I ended going for him and simulate a dogfight where I let him go into my 6 and kill me. He then sent some "gocha *&^^%$#@" and I never eard of him again.
I don't want to give a negative image of AH, and I'm sorry if I did. Never really played WB, but I recall that coming from AW3, I was surprised on how often people flamed each other ranging from insults to discredit on the kill.
It doesn't mean that all the comunauty is like that in AH, far from it. Just some people take the liberty to express their feeling a bit too loud and that is what flashes. 1 person complaining on chanel 1 will stand out, even if the 90 others fliers are nice people.
Not sure I explained all this good, don't get me wrong, I enjoy this comunauty even if some have some "strong personalities"... "noisy personalities" I should correct. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Snoopi, I think what you'll find is that 99% of those playing the game will usually give a
after a fight. Many will also give a "play-by-play" analysis for all to read on the open channel. (I've been guilty of this a couple times.) IMO both of these are fine and actually make you feel good after a fight.
Of course there are a few people who will whine and whine and WHINE everytime anyone shoots them down. You'll find that they are always the same 3 or 4 people every night. The solution is to enter a few .squelch (Name) lines whenever one of them is online. You can also do .squelch 1, but this does prevent you from seeing any open channel talking.
To tell the truth I personally enjoy reading posts by a perpetual whiner. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) When you finally shoot them down that just makes it all the more satisfying. Since I film virtually every single fight, if the start whining about me warping, cheating, etc I just tell them I have it on film if they want to see it.
(There was one night about a month ago where I was in an m3 on the way to a Rook base. I managed to make it all the way there and even park myself in one of the fighter hangars. Whenever one of their fighters took off I'd shoot his wingtips off and get him to crash. Of course one of the Rooks taking off was one of the people that almost always seems to have an excuse for being shot down. After I downed him for about the 3rd time of course he started whining on the open channel: "Bloom25, your p47 was warping ALL over the place." At first I was too busy to notice the message, because I was busy shooting at other planes taking off. A few seconds later I get "I have a DSL connection, so I know it was you." Next thing I know, "Relog Bloom25, you're warping." About this time I decided to play my trump card. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I just posted back, "That's great ****, but I'm in an M3 :P " Next thing you know the Knight buffer was just filled with LOLs. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) I never have heard a thing from this particular guy since.)

We need an automatic squelch list. If a guy really bugs you, just put him on the list (it could be like the squad menu) and you never have to hear from him again.

Hey!
Ive got to agree - its not that bad. There are always people who whine and squeak, but most of the time i feel very comfortable in the MA.
And most times u give an <S> to someone after a fight (for me usually after beeing shot down (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ) u have some small conversation about that fight and the other one squeaking around is very rare. I really like this and it happens more often than not.
So dont be too worried - It is still ok in the MA
OK then - cu up there (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Purzel, I think I've had to salute you after every time I shot you down. Well, "shot" doesn't really fit here, mainly made you auger a couple of times, since you're so damn hard to hit (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).
The MA in general is pretty mellow, but there's always someone louder and more obnoxious than the rest. The other morning there was a finnish guy who was cursing me out and challenging me to fight (which was ridiculous, as he didn't tell me where he was). I talked to his country mates, found out where he was and shot his bellybutton out of the sky. The MA was real nice and quiet after that (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).

Frenchy is giving you an unrealistic view of the MA. He is a bloody wizard in the air. It can be very frustrating to bounce him and get shot down for it.....
But he is as patient as he is deadly. <S>
Most of us however would not reciece 1/10 th of the hate mail he does simply because we cannot fly that way.
Sertainly the MA is not sterile. There is banter. There is whining. But by far the most common thing I see is <S>.
Squads changing counties in the last 2 months has had a good effect on relations I think.
Myself I think that RW saves alot of grieving on channel 1. Whine to your buddies and I bet you will feel better enough about it to keep it to yourself.

Amazing how quiet the radio is, all I see are kill messages and usually humourous banter in the text buffer. I come here to see all the talk I missed out on (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif) not much missing much I guess

Well rip, I guess that if the rats wear LW markings, the other a big red star, the other a USAAF scheme, and so with RAF and Italian markings...
it wont be a very safe box for the LW marked rats, that fer sure (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Thats O.K. with me.
It helps me pick targets during a fight. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
I confess:
I myself have occasionally done the "analysis after the fight" on channel 1.
I should just do it on a private channel.
I don't believe in excuses, just in learning what I did wrong. (unless I know)
I do try to do it only with pilots I know, so that they don't see it a excuse making and are willing to help out.
Thanks ! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Erm... ok Snoopi, I'm not actually offended. Your a good guy online (and a much better pilot), BUT: please don't do that! It's a big misconception that makes me uncomfortable because it's inaccurate and perhaps untrue. I think I know where it comes from, so I'm not mad, but do try to avoid it. Thanks!

LOL. They are some good commercials. I auditioned for one of those spots and was found to have too much personality.
