I loved the movie! :)

I hated the three screaming and crying very very young children this idiotic family brought along - and of course they had to sit right behind me... And they wouldnt take the lil bastiges outside even after some asked repeatedly and thretened to get theater employyes involved...

FOR GOD'S SAKE SHUT THE **** UP YOU LITTLE ******!!!

Damn that felt good, been holing it back to long.. ;)

Great movie, Wife loved it and has talked about it all day and into this morning.. Its what Pearl Harbor should have been..
The only love story about it was a man and his love for boat and country...
 Can't wait for the sequal!

Was this based on the book by Patrick O'Reilly (I think)?

The book was a tough slog...difficult to read and jumped around a whole lot in terms of time frame.

Love the genre, so I will definatley see the film.

I like to watch a film where the French get squashed by the British.

You would better watch a rugby match ... plus it's in real time :)

I really liked it. This film did the period justice. It reminded me of when I was a kid and read the book "nelson and the age of fighting sail" Wooden ships and Iron men thing. :) It is high on details. The starting scene I thought was cool. You get the feeling you're on the ship. Nobody could have done a better job in the role than russell crowe.

I've heard that in the book the French ship is an American ship, and that it was changed to appeal to American audiences.  I have not read any of O'Brian's books.

I enjoyed the movie very much... I think they did their research well in portraying the many habbits and practices of the time.

The one thing that amazed me was how quickly they were able to repair the ship back to prestine shape after every battle... Ah gotta love Hollywood.

The movie is set up for a sequel...
