Hi all,
I'm a new subscriber to AH as of this month. I recently bought a Logitech Wingman Digital Extreme joystick with the twist handle.
The twist handle works great for landing/takeoff but in flight its a bit too sensitive. So, at the moment I lock the twist handle during flight.
The problem I am having is with the rudder keys on the keyboard. (default a,s and d) Since using this new joystick they do not work at all. I have tried to remap them to different keys and still no success. Is this a known issue with a twist handle joystick? Is it possible I can use the twist handle when I need to but also have the keyboard rudder keys work as well so I can use during flight?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

just change the "scaling" for the rudder portion of the joystic. Click "Setup/joystick" on the notepad. In the top left corner click on the drop down menu and select rudder. Then adjust the "Slider" buttons in the center or the page, the closer to the bottom, the less effect you get from the stick deflection. I also slide the "damping" slider.... the one on the far right about half way up to slow the time to input. Remember to save settings, and give it a try. It may take you a few trys to get it where you like it, but you'll be able to use the rudder in flight with out throwing your self into spins to fast :D

Yeah, work with the settings. This is my favorite joystick and does great for me.

No. It's twisty stick or keyboard rudder. If you have the ability to lock the stick, that's probably the best you can do, otherwise you'll need to select None for joystick rudder and reApply the keyboard keys.

the twisty rudder on the wingman works great if you goto joystick select the rudder axis ... move the deadband /dampaning up alittle bit ... you want a slight lag befor the calibration needle comes off center .

You can still trim your rudder in flight using the J and L keys.
