Title: Coyote Waits
Post by: Dune on November 17, 2003, 09:24:33 PM
Out of curiosity, did anyone see this on PBS last night?  It was a Robert Redford production of the Tony Hillerman book.

Almost every Native American actor you've seen in movies from the last ten years was in it.  It was very well done and totally kept you guessing.

I've been a big fan of Hillerman for a long time.  Three years ago my dad, sister and I went from the Phoenix, over the Mogollan Rim and up through the Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations into Bluff, Utah (then we went to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon).  While going through the Reservations we listened to a Hillerman book (Skinwalkers IIRC).  It was very cool to be able to actually see some of the places in the book.

Damn!  Didn't know it was on.  I've been a big Hillerman fan for years.  He was a reporter on the local paper for years, so I've kind of followed his progress.

It was on the cover of the newspaper's local TV guide but I missed the showing time.  Hopefully it will come on again.  The PBS affilliate usually shows its good stuff a couple of times a year.
