For 4 years I flew Knights for all but 60 days of that time. I've moved onto greener pastures where I actually KNOW some of the guys when I log in. :p Though many knights don't know who the hell I am, just saying, its been a fun 4 years! Be gentle on me when you find me in your territory! (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/images/smilies/kiss.gif)

Uh...Rip, hope yer comin to ROOKS? We need a few (more) good men.

I recently went Rook, after being a Knight for almost 3 years. But I haven't flown in a long time so I don't recognize too many names.

Don't worry Rip. Those of us that still know the name and the penchant you have for low alt inbound flight will be glad to knock your Knight and VMF-323 self to the ground and give you a proper welcome home.

Sweet Betsy!
Load up them 50 cals, Mother. Time to go a huntin' some Ripsnort!

Hey Reschke, I grew up in Birmingham and spent many a Friday and Saturday night cruisin in Vestavia and a few other haunts. I graduated H.S. in '71 so it's been a while.

Very sad if Rip went to lemming-suicide-bishiots. In addition to having most pilots most of the time, they now start getting those who can fly...
Furball.... ur quote, back to ur face :p

I hope Rip likes flying missions, because that's all the Bishops do. Here's a tip: if you're not in the front of the herd, you better hope you remembered to check "Attack" before you took off or you won't get any points for strafing the fuel drums. :p

I moved up here in 1991 to play football at UAB. My wife graduated from Homewood and I grew up down near Selma, AL in the prime hunting area of the state. I wish I lived there now but it would have to be as a single man because my wife damn sure will not move to that area.
Vestavia has changed a good bit in the last 10 years. There has been a huge influx of new business into the area. Nearly all the land over between Grant's Mill Road and Hwy 280 has been annexed by Birmingham, Hoover and Vestavia. Now that area is where most of the big time high dollar new construction homes are being built.

Obviously you've never seen one of our squad ops :)
But yeah, i agree, theres always some noob that has to go pork strat in country missions.

Ripsnort,
As long as your flying in AH is what is important. I'll either enjoying fighting you as a Bishop or winging with you as Rook. Either way your a good person to fight against or fly with.
See you in the MA and hopefully SEA.

Hopefully he goes Bish. We don't need no stinkin' carpeted runways in Rookland.

So, you've opened up a WWIIOL account?
-
First you abandon your squad, then you abandon your country. What a blow it must be to your sense of honor.

Absolutely some of the best whitetail hunting in the state is Dallas, Perry, Lowndes, Autauga, Marengo counties. All of which are what is known as the "Black Belt" area. The ground is so fertile that the top soil in the area is black and super heavy in all the minerals which allow trees and crops to grow so big. Thereby allowing the deer in the area to get up high in size.
BTW Rip....sorry for the hijack here you target.

kevinh69@charter.net
Talk to you later.
-
Got it recon7 BTW nice flying with you guys last night for a while there around 243
-
Its all good recon. Currently in college, still working 40 hours a week, and being Dad and Husband. I am having a ball! I did manage to pick up a decent hunting spot here in south Texas and got in the woods this morning. There is a good population of deer and and hogs. Good stress relief:)
hope all is well with you and yours

Hmmmm Ammo; I am planning a business trip for mid-January out that way. I might bring my rifle and see if I can get in on some deer and hog hunting while I am there as well.
BTW hell of a game tonight that Alabama played. Its just tough to give up 204 yards on the ground to one guy and expect to win. BTW my boys beat South Florida tonight by a field goal...GO BLAZERS!
-
I dont mind saying I was a little frustrated watching the game. But you gotta hand it to Bama, where we are short on deptrh, we make for with heart. That is squad full of good boys.
On the hunting trip, get with me offline at zemke@satx.rr.com

I dont blame ya rip not the same as the old days eh ?? :)
