Title: internet explorer question
Post by: Krusher on November 18, 2003, 01:39:31 PM
Does anyone know of a way to open each link in its own window without opening the window first?

I know search engines have the option of showing results in new windows so they wont overwrite your search question, but can you make a short cut that will do the same?

You can right click the link and select "open in new window".
N/M I don't  think I understood your question.

I didnt explain it very well.

Say you have a window open and you click on a shortcut on your desk. It opens in the window that is already open. I need it to open a new window and leave the other open to the original page.

btw tried n/m in the shortcut, it didnt work.

works for me, and i have XP.  If i hold down left shift and click on a web link, it opens that link in a new window.

Although i'm not entirely sure i understand your question.

hmmm it does work if you already have a link open and then hold the shift while you open the original explorer shortcut. But if you do it the other way around with the original browser open and hold the shift while opening a shortcut it opens in the same window.

weird.
