 Must have been a real attitude for your coach to deactivate talent like his. Typical modern day athletes, spoiled.
People like Owens, Keyshawn...are why I don't watch as much sports as I used to.

It's like a big contest on the Bucs this year to see who is the most overrated. Chucky, Sapp, or Keyshawn.
-
Keyshawn drops too many passes that should have been caught, he can't catch any better than me , but i don't get paid millions a year to play a game.
the next one they should cut is kenyata (face mask) walker.

Is it true SOB is your love child?

Now he gets to sit at home and collect his multi-million dollar salary for doing nothing. That's showing him!

I'm basing my thoughts of him over his career, remember the "Gimme da ball!" fiasco?
C.O.T.U. syndrome.
Ahh, how I yearn for classy honorable playa's like Payton, Barry Sanders, etc. etc.

If keyshawn were half the player he thought he was this wouldn't be an issue. You can't even compare him to Owens... since owens has the uncanny ability to piss people off by backing up all his trash.
Keyshawn can be easily sumarized by his Monday night football cameo. "Screen pass to him... is that how he got to be the #1 receiver in the league? 4.4 speed and they throw him a screen pass? He ain't nothing" TB lost that game while the best receiver in the league tore them apart and Keshawn sat out the second half.

:rofl :rofl :rofl
But think about it..have you been unemployed? How long was it before you went stir crazy? With me, 3 weeks...I was ready to do something! Anything!
This guys losing out on what he lives for, center of attention, big plays, cheers...the money doesn't mean squat to him by this stage.

Yep, they had him "Mic'd up" that night, you're spot on. Owens has his share of problems, he's better than Keyshawn, but both in the same caliber (IMO). Incidently, when the Hawks beat SF here earlier this year, did you see how many passes "Sharpy" dropped during that game? ;) (At least 3 sure catches)

Nope in the NFL you don't have guaranteed contracts and if you aren't on a team you aren't getting a paycheck. This is not a "Nancy boy"sport like Baseball where you can be a pitcher and only work once every 5 days and still make $4 million a year. In the NFL they don't do guaranteed contracts; no matter who you are. Simply because you as a player are an expendable commodity. There are always other players as good as you if not better who want your job and if they show they can do it better you are gone.
I have several buddies who are and were players for various teams in the NFL. Only one of them made any real money and his highest contract was $450,000 a year after bonus money in his 5th season. When he was deactivated by Miami in his 3rd year of the 5 year contract he had to go to work like everyone else. He was out of a job and there was no money coming in.

Meshawn has always been, and will always be a distraction and a clubhouse cancer.
He'll get a shot with someone desperate next year, but I'd be willing to bet he goes the way of Carl Pickens.

Dude,
That was uncalled for.

Just to clear up Reschke's post...
Johnson will be paid for the rest of the season, but will not be required to remain with the team in Tampa. The Bucs cannot release Johnson because they would take an immediate $7 million salary cap hit. Tampa Bay is $3.95 million under the cap, so releasing him would put the team $3.05 million over the cap.

Technically, he is on a team, the Bucs.
There is speculation that Meshawn might head over to Dallas to play with Parcells again. I don't think that this benching is going to hurt him all in the long run. From Gruden's perspective, hopefully it will at least help the team focus.

look on the bright side, if anyone can get Meshawn to work, it's probably Parcells.

He couldn't get him to work with the Jets.
I'll be shocked if he winds up with the Cowboys.
-
I didn't see that about him being paid out for the rest of the year. I know he was going to be getting a "roster bonus" next year but for someone who hasn't been a game breaker he was really over paid.

Eh, he had his best season undere Parcells, but you're right... who knows at this point.

I would take him straight up for Joey Galloway. Problem there is Joey is scheduled to make $8 million next year and I dont know if the Bucs can take that on. The Cowboys need someone who can go over the middle and make a damn catch. Say what you want about Keychain, but he has a buttload of talent and if anyone can motivate him again its The Gigantic Tuna.

Well, we saw the interviews, and he questioned the coaching decisions. From what has been written by the sports writers, he was saying it in the locker room too. You can't have distractions on a team, that's why Belichick got rid of Terry Glenn, look what the results were.

This may very well be, but if it is, Gruden is a consistent jerk.
But he never understood why he wasn't more involved in Gruden's game plans. He voiced his concern to the coach and general manager Rich McKay last month, telling them that he wanted to leave after this season.
Can't say I've paid all that much attention to the Bucs, but while he coached in Oakland, there really was no such thing as a "featured" receiver or running back. The ball was going everywhere.
