Heh, the local DZ is at a combined military/civilian airfield. They fly AWACS, F-16s, C-130s outta there. And of course visiting planes from over the world come in now and then.
It's great. The F-16 pilots know where the DZ is and usually make low passes right over our hangars before they land, kicking in burners for extra effect.
Anyway, under canopy we sometimes have military planes coming in to land. They fly reasonably close as our landing area is adjacent to the runways.
Me, I've gotten a salute outta a Canadian F-18 pilot once, along with numerous waves.
I just saw a video a friend shot. Some American planes were coming in (F-15s I think) to land. Friend had camera mounted on helmet. He waves.
American wave back. And then give him the finger. Wingman does the same. ROFL. It's clearly visible on the video, there's no mistaking it. Then plane is obscured by my pal's hand as he returns the one fingered salute.
Heh, I can just imagine the coms between the two yanks.
1: "Look, there's a guy who lost his plane. Let's give him the finger"
2: "Yeah"
Rude motherf...kers :D

What country is this in?

Para's and aircraft in the same airspace are a hazard to the aircraft. They have to yield to the paras like a motorized boat must heave to when approaching a sailboat (Right of way).
Basically, you're a menace to them. :)
-
The're just peeved that they're not allowed to shoot. :)
-
StSanta is too embarrassed by his country and it's need or lack of choice at having to be protected by US aircraft to put his country in his information below his avatar. So sad.
:rofl

hahaha, and this was in his chute? or was he already on the ground?

LOL
We were flying back from an exercise in a KC-135 once and were refueling some F-15s on the way home who also participated in the exercise. From the over the wing window, one of the guys is waving at the F-15. One of the grumbly sargents tells him that the pilot cant see him, so give it up. So the airman flips the pilot the bird, and the F-15 pilot, very cooly, gives it back :aok

Denmark needs to be "protected by US aircraft"?! From whom?! From Finns or Swedes?! Oh! I know, I know! From evil French invaders! :D
Brave Fighters for Freedom and Democracy failed to intercept the only Soviet aircraft that invaded Danish airspace back in 1989. That MiG-23 didn't even have a crew aboard. Great protection indeed.

You mean the one that crossed into Germany and was picked up by just about every NATO base in northern Europe and crashed in a field in Belgium, killing a 19 year old kid, I just happen to know one of the pilots that flew the intercept that day,, PS the pilot ejected because he thought he had an engine failure... Btw it happend on the 4th of July.
Cheers

It must've been the pink and purple drop chute. :p

My grandpa told me a story about how he and and other B25 pilots liked to find a B17 from the neighboring field in the air, climb above them, feather an engine and then dive past them waving....
He said they got the same response your friend did Santa. :)
Must just be how us american types say hello to each other. :D

Can't fault 'em for that, there was a good possibility. :p

How about the vid?:D

During my first solo in 1978 , (was in a Piper Tomahawk) a skydiver popped his chute just past the end of the runway. My instructor called me on the radio and said he shouldn't have done that, just go around him. I thought, damn. ;)

yup I can atest to that. The "k" series ejection seat is far better than any martin baker or ACESII the US uses.
as far as the finger goes....thats how alot of fighter jocks say HI. I've known a couple that live near me and they do it in there cars as well
