What a game, awesome finish.
20/17 to the poms, won by a feild goal during extra time. (in the last 30 seconds of a 10 min overtime)

Great win for England.  The cup is rather unimpressive though.  I guess size isn't everything.

I was there and it was truely awesome. Steve Thompson's lineout throwing almost gave me a heart attack though!
Probably the tensest and closest match in the history of the game.

When the World Cup started Rugby was still an amateur game: they couldn't afford anything bigger. Of course if the Wallabies had won they would have got to keep it (having won it twice already) and the IRB would have had to buy a new one.

woooohooo! what a game! if that final was a movie, it would be trashed for being too far fetched.

Credit has to go to Fostralia for the effort - they gave all. Shame their team is tainted by all the bashing the press over there gives the English, thats is just disgusting.

Superb game. Was sleeping on a mate's sofa after a night on the pop and it was very hard to get up to watch it. Soon sobered up though. Probably the best game of any sport I have ever seen an England team play. Truly awesome. Really thought it wasn't going to happen when Oz got that penalty at the end of extra time!

WTG Aussies for giving such a great game. :D

As for the Oz press - I don't think it was disgusting or anything. It's all part of the fun and some of them have offered witty retractions which are quit good.
