Title: Disabling the firewall in a LAN

Do you have netbios installed for lan adapters use ?

If you do they should easily find each other.

If you don't try a ping from 1 comp to anothers ip address if you get a return you will have to map the other computer to enable access.

Personally as my lan adapter also gives me access to the net i have disabled netbios for it and mapped the drives for security.
I also sit behind a NAT router and have Zone alarm on all comps.

but he needs to get his pc's talking to each other first .. or log in by using ip addys

I want to host an H2h room, since the firewall has been keeping me from doing this, I believe. I should have made that clear before.

Post by: mold on November 23, 2003, 05:25:16 PM: OK, got it. I take it you want to host a H2H with someone over the net (outside your home network). You should be able to do this either by mapping a port on your firewall (preferred) or by putting that computer in the "DMZ" (less preferred). What type of router do you have, i.e. what brand/model?
