Title: Strike Fighter Project I... is it worth it?
Post by: deSelys on November 25, 2003, 05:35:01 PM
I have the possibility to buy it for 12.5 €, but I've read the release version was seriously buggy.

How far does patching cure the problems? Are the patches easy to find?

Finally, do you recommend it?

Thanks for your input.

It's playable, and very cool to look at, but not great.  If you are not a fan of "Cold War" jets, don't get it.  AFAIK there is only one patch.  There are a lot of cool mods.  There is a good forum on SimHQ where you can find a lot of info and reviews.

I got it when it came out new here, F-104 is fun, F-4 is moreso. A-4 is really fun. Dropping napalm on a mosque is priceless:p
Its good had no crashes or gamestopping bugs, its got addons but I never tried them because like FS200* its usually all eye candy and no flight model.

Its a lot of fun.  The close-in guns-only dogfights are worth the price of admission.  The graphics are better than average and the damage models are fairly advanced.  There are LOTS of add-ons available since the sim is open source.  Best of all, most add-ons are very high quality.  These include paint jobs, new terrains, new weapons, and lots of new airplanes.  Make sure you load the first patch.

It's OK, but it needs that second patch (which has been in the final stages of testing since March it seems).
