The clipboard is a gamey cheezy substitute for the organization, dedication and equipment that was radar.
I think Lazs has a good point hidden in this post. Its something I never considered, but it makes complete sense.
Each one of us AHers are a complete Military. Each one of us are Theatre CINC, HQ Staff, Planning, Flight Ops Officer, Intellignce, Armourers, Mechanics, etc.
This is appropriate because HiTech would never get away with forcing us just to be pilots in his sim. Having us sit OTR waiting for permission to take off and then only flying where we are told to doing whatever mission we are told would not have made HT popular.
The clipboard provides our "individual" militaries with information that would be available to whole militaries.
Since we are so much more the just individual pilots, maybe it is appropriate that we have more information available to us.
hmmmmm....

Yeah, he's right.
Kinda weird way to explain it, but that's what it is.
Works well too.

The guy has an awesome point, he just has to learn to explain it well.

If he got pissed off and called people names a lot....
And I agree with a lot of what you say, even.

I never get pissed off and I like to think of it as "descriptive" rather than name calling".

Allow me to rephrase:
If he seemed to many people to get pissed off a lot, and used descriptive terms that many people feel are excessively perjorative...

In this essay Dali Lama refers to certain Governments as being "Totalitarian", and observes that Communist countries treat their citizens "brutally".
The enlightened leader of North Korea no doubt finds these statements insulting while the Dali Lama probably regards them as merely descriptive. And frankly the Dali Lama does seem more than a bit pissed off about the state of the world.
