Topless Cameron Diaz pictures stopped from being sold

A Los Angeles photographer was barred yesterday from selling topless photos of actress Cameron Diaz that were taken before she became famous.

John Rutter was issued with a permanent court injunction that also prevents him from publicising the photos in any way or keeping them in his possession.

Rutter has been charged with attempted extortion for allegedly demanding US$3.3 million ($5.2 million) from the Charlie's Angels star.

Extortion?  I've never seen her boobies but they can't be that bad.  Did she get a bad boobjob or something?

My understanding is that these pics were of some nude modeling shoot she did when she was young, not something done without her knowledge.

Did she not sign some sort of contract and get paid from the original job?  I don't see why a court would stop this guy.  

The extortion might be a different matter.  "Give me $3 million or I will sell these" would get him in trouble.  But what if $3 million was what he was offered by some magazine?  "Top their bid of $3 million or will sell them" doesn't seem like extortion to me.

This was not extortion, he simply offered her to buy the pictures before he offered them to someone else...

He was being a good guy imho :)
