These other posts bring up a real frustrating problem I have with W2K.... If a program screws up (could be caused by me) and I go to the Task Manager to kill it I get a "can't close cause its debugging"..... Which goes on a long time..... Anyone know how to disable the debugger...... The debugger doesn't tell me anything anyway...........

Hey Maddog. :)
I hate that crap. Don't know how to make it stop. I just hit the reset button.

Look in control panal/administrative tools/services, if it can be disabled it will be there.
-
You can disable it like this:
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > Scroll down till you find Machine Debug Manager > Right Click for Properties > Select Disabled in the Startup drop down menu then hit Apply.
Just for good measure reboot the machine then check again. If that doesn't cure it check out the Black Viper Windows XP Tweak Site. (http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/winxp.htm)

can't find debug..(as I know it) under admin services .... subsequently still at a lose....

Black viper says there is a file named mdm.exe which is the "machine debug manager". can't find it on this system... May have killed it here already...... Will check other systems.....
