HMCS Nanaimo, Flower class corvette.

Well it is almost Frank3's HMS Flower.:rofl
HMCS Nanaimo was one of 54 ships of the 1939-40 'program'. She was luanched 28.10.40 and in commission from 26.4.41 to 28.9.45. Post war she was the Dutch whaler Rene W. Winkle. She was broken-up in 1966 in Cape Town.

Well Frank this was indead for you, although to the best of my Knoldege their was Never actualy a Flower CLass Corvet named Flower, nore was their one Named Compass Rose from "The Cruel Sea", Great Book BTW, they made a move based on the book if I remember I saw a part of it once Havent seen it for years though would like to at some point. I Actualy Have a 8x10 Pick orf a Flower class Corvet on my dresser framed , got it from the Imperial war museum years ago after I read the above book.

I have seen it in a modeller magazine, I believe it was a Dutch ship, not too sure tho, was a long time ago
