In an effort to provide useful feedback to our CT CMs, I’d like to suggest that we grade each set-up AFTER it’s week long run has ended. I’d also like to recommend that we grade on a curve, a tough C average curve. Most set-ups should get grades of “C”, because we are comparing them against all CT set ups.
Please do not use this as a vehicle to bash individuals, only to point out as a whole how you liked a particular set up.
So please, suggest a grade for "Drive On The Reich". Add comments along with your grade if you wish, but everyone who played, please post a grade.
And remember, a “C” grade in the CT beats the heck out of an “A” in the MA or any other game. A’s and F’s should be rare.

C
Great plane match ups.
Presence of the Tiger on one side only frustrated the GV aspect of the war.
The action seemed a bit slow and the drives seemed a bit far at times.
Encountered many who were to high or fast to fight.

*ShruG*
C+
:D

Had 2 good fights. C
-
C+ to B-. A+ for the map. I had alot of fun in the 110, maybe too much. I think maybe the Spit I should be enabled everywhere to counter the 110. Just a thought.
-
Storch may not have done it ... yet ... but expect Hurricane MkI on his list of planes he hates to fly against in the CT. ;)

Drive on the Reich by Jester gets... D+
1) The presense of the Tiger on Axis without counter-balance screws things up. Wish there was a way to perk a ride like 5 pts for one country and 10 pts for another.
2) Spit14, Spit14, Spit14, Spit14. That got really old after awhile. Spit14s should have been perked.
3) The fuzzy dar settings made finding a fight seriously annoying.
4) The Uber-AAA was a serious pain in the butt until Jester fixed it. For this comment I'm actually increasing my grade from D.
5) The keeping of the Tempests, 262s, 152s, 163s, B17s, and Lancasters in rear area restricted bases almost worked correctly. I only saw a single formation of Lancasters the whole week. Which is too few. Never saw B17s which is way too few. As for all the fighters it would have been better if each side had 3 bases to launch each AC from, one in the N, one S, and one in the center.
6) Resetting my Perk Points sucked and has been covered in detail in Jester's setup post. It screwed me up, it screwed others up, it caused a bunch of people to simply not fly in the CT. You all think this is the correct way to handle things but your wrong.

Drive on the Reich - A+ for me. Some of the best fun I've had in the CT recently was fighting SpitXIV's in an A5. Personally, I don't see a reason to wet myself as soon as I see one of the Spitfires in a setup.

I'll be seeing you in one soon, then? :D

Ahhh .... so the Hurri MkI is indeed on your CT aircraft "whinelist." Ain't THAT a corker? So, would you like this "BoF" camp to pare the fighter list down to just the P-40b for the Allies? Heh ... I bet. Well, until then .... don't try to turn with a Hurri. And certainly don't try to tangle with one all solo-like. "Alpha males" be droppin' like flies when they do that. ;)
-
Ahhh. So you don't have a problem with the Hurricane MkI .... or the map .... just the setup in general, for some non-specific reason. Gotcha. You "Alpha males" can apparently be as inscrutable as women at times. :D
-
Got 5 kill sortie in 110 w MG/FF today Storch. All A2A kills, no vulches, 3 were 1v1 engagements. Maintained fire discipline and only used the MG/FFs majority of time firing the MG17s for "make them think" moments.
No they aren't Hispanos or MG151/20s but they can be made to work.
Try out what I suggested on CH1 today. I'll do same... we can compare results.
-
Don't like "early war stuff" or don't like "early war stuff in a Euro setting?" What happened to your gameface, John Wayne? Uh-member? Wasn't that you rallying the troops from the cockpit of your P-40 over the warm Pacific waters? ;)
Oh well ... everyone's entitled to an opinion and I suppose everyone's entitled to change them whenever they feel like. After all .... it's an "alpha male's" prerogative to change their minds, I suppose. No wait ..... that's ....
;)
ShruG ... whatever
-
Ahhhh ..... an "F-" because the P-40B and Hurri I are too uber. Gotcha. :aok :lol
Well ... I hope Jazz's suggestion helps ya and you're less miserable for the rest of the tour. Good luck, "Mr. Alpha." ;) :D
-
You mean it's changed again?! Go figure. Nope ... ain't gonna ask what it is now. That'll just get you even more riled up, I reckon. Again .... good luck. I hope the new and improved tactic works and you rack up them kills, ma'am.
:aok

B+ setup for Drive on the Reich. Too many 109G10s, but that didnt really bother me. They burned nicely too. Maybe more bases for the perk rides, one or two more.
Thumbs up.
As for perks, I had no trouble getting as many 5 point rides as I wanted. No biggie.

errrrr slash, i think you graded this week eskimo said last week's map. But I give this week's plane set an F- the map is good though. Yeah,Im a moron. Sorry:D
Last weeks set up Id give a C. The plane set was good but the fights stayed between the same 2 bases 90% of the time. I give a F- to the perk idea.
-
Maintained fire discipline and only used the MG/FFs majority of time firing the MG17s for "make them think" moments.
Anyone seen my boots?:rofl
-
Aside from my "England Invasion" whine and Brady's failure to correct it, I give the current CT map an A+. It is historical and the Axis is kicking Allied butt.
The Bf110s rule the attack.
The Bf109s rule the BnZ
Both rule the sky. They are fast and can make a quick "turn Around" from departure, climbout cruise, dive RTB, reload and attack again.

Hey, thread highjackers, start a new one to debate the current set up please. Im pretty sure this isnt what eskimo was wanting.:D
-
Ahah! "F-" because Storch isn't getting enough kills! And lawd knows he's a killah! :D

For 1 Sortie dikwad! No I'm not in the habit of holding my fire. Nor am I in the habit of not firing everything I have on board including the kitchen sink. However in the interest of straightening out the MG/FF issue I can conserve.

ROFL. *ShruG* Ok ..ok .... "F-" beacuse the game's obviously broke or sumpin'. No need to get all uptight about it. Game's broke. 110's broke. The Hurricane and P-40 are too hard to shoot down. Was just curious. Maybe next week'll be better. I'll see you that week just like every week. ;) :aok
Vile stuff? :rofl
Oh .... and add me. I'll try to get over it. :D

In a (perhaps vain) attempt to bring this thread back on track, I give LAST WEEK'S setup a "C". I'm not big on late-war planes, but I thought that the match worked well. Spit 14 isn't that much better than the G10, and I saw a lot of Typhoons and 51s. Very nice map.

Last weeks setup, a B+ imho.
-
I give it a B good plane match ups.we ran a couple of good bomb runs with good oppisition was good fun.
-
For the one evening I flew it, Drive on the Reich was a fun matchup C..C++. The 109g6 is a surprisingly effective ride when you don't have to face spit9's.

I enjoyed the map and theme very much...The historical match up is most appealing in the CT. Not the cyber confrontations you see in the MA, ie., La7 vs a Niki. I would give it a B-. As for the planes, I like the axis AC, typically 109, then 190 and 110 in that order. In this scenario, I found it very challenging to get a kill, particularly on the Spirtard 14. Unless my target was less than 300 yrds and with a small angle of deflection, either cannon or MG’s seems useless. Snapshots are surprising when they occur and usually they happen at less than 150yrds. Generally, if I was with a wingy or squad mates the chances seemed acceptable. One v One, I would think twice unless at a definite tach advantage. As for uber planes, aside from the 14, I don't feel any of them fall into that category. The pilots on the allied side use the strength of their crates very well and they are deadly if I do not use my AC to its maximum limit.
to all.
-
At the begining I tough that Spitfire Mk XIV should be perked but then.... I figured out that it can be beaten well - it is Spitfire all the way.
Great Setup......
I want more Late war setups :aok
-
For 1 Sortie dikwad! Wtf is this about?
-
All in all I thought both of the last two setup were pretty good. Numbers seemed to gravitate to the stronger plane set last week...but that can also be squad based. I'm not exactly hot stuff in a 109 (or much else for that matter) but was able to be competative with just about everything in the G-6. Had 1 minor $#$%^ episode with a couple tempests but more irritated by the gangbang (already was 1-4 or worse) then anything else.
It was nice to see the spit14 up and about...certainly a tough nut but beatable...stats said I was 13-15 vs spit14. I'd of liked to see 152 at a lower perk/wider availability.
Ended up with 70+ perkies...think I flew 1 262 hop whole week.
B+

though I was outa town for bout half the week ...

would have been an A if it were earlier planset
for fun .. t&b beats b&z anyday..
