"... but don't give a crap cause we are all in AH now"

I tend not to. The only time I ever feel the need to mention past or other game(s) is to make a point that I feel needs to be made by using an example of something from them.

However sometimes you don't know where you're going if you don't acknowlege or remember where you've been.

I find it fascinating how people tend to form groups, how they try to create a feeling of being part of something. It goes for nations, sports clubs, and now even for something like a computer game. Not a negative comment, just sharing my observation.

One could write a doctoral thesis on mental behavior just reading the BBS.  We're all here the loners, the joiners, the paranoid, the schitzo as well as the various combinations of each.  Only thing I've gathered is that it's all roadkill.  If you want a real relationship with somebody get away from the computer.

Actually beegerite.. I have met a lot of people who play AH and WB before that and AW before that.  I "keep in touch" with RW and it is a social thing.  I have met a lot of people that I would not ordinarily have met.

What Lazs just said. You meet many people online and quite a number you end up calling "friend."  While most are simply online aquaintences you're not so much "friends with" as you are "friendly towards" and you enjoy thier comeradery in the games environment. However some of these people do become real life friends and are folks you end up sharing with outside of AH (or AW. FA or WB's)

Something turned us all on to this genre, be it AOE, RBII, EAW, AW etc, etc.

It's the place where you had golden memories, your first love.

Difference is that some remember thier first love with affection, cognizant of her faults; others with contempt, because they had her and passed her around.

As in all things, it's a question of background.

Its only natural to compare Aces High to other sims you have been on.

Despite whatever areas of the game irk people (buffs, AI acks, radar, etc) Aces High is a damn good game.

I flew a lot of the Novalogic games (F22, F16, MiG29, etc) and Falcon 4.  Its too bad Falcon 4 and its incredible complexity never worked in an easy online system like Novalogic or Aces High.  Subsequent 3rd party development has added that (JetNet) but its too late.  Most of the Falcon 4 flyers are cultish and hard to find.  But, that's another story.  On the other hand, the NovaLogic software is aimed to sell to LOTS of people, so anything complicated would kill sales.  Check out how arcadish the Commanche 4 chopper game demo is.  Start engine and start pulling the trigger.  Sad but true.  And I bet they will sell a lot of copies when they port it over for Xbox, PS2, etc

Aces High is fantastic...sure, we all have personal peeves with things we'd like to see fixed/added/removed.  But overall, I love the game despite it all.

You'll have to do a netsearch on AW now. AW's EA homepage  http://www.airwarior.com (http://www.airwarior.com)  is gone too. It was replaced with info for a "Simpsons ROAD RAGE" X-box game.

It was AW for me.  :)

Took the last 2 years off from flying and pleased as punch that I found AH when the itch to fly became too much to ignore any further  :D

OMG they killed AW.  What are "we" gona do?  Oh, forgot that there have been talks with HT in other forums.  That way he will mold the game to "our" liking.  As it should be.  AH is in for a major overhaul. Obviously "we" cant divulge all the details, but "you" will hear about them soon enough.  Dont worry, I am sure everyone will enjoy the new product.  While a version name has not been decided yet, there are several phrases in the front running.  Ofcourse the moniker "Xxxxx Gold" is overused, so "we" are looking for a more cachy phrase.  The top name on the list right now is "Aces High Millenium Edition".  Please stay tuned for more info from HTC and this "private" group that is in current talks with them.  Thank you all for your time.  "We" would have like to have told you earlier, but you know about divulging such news without the proper timing.

Oh come on Lemur, there is no reason to deny it.  The cats is outta dabag.  Accept it, it will only ease the transition.  People of AH have not to fear for the change which is near.

I can thank Knights Of The Sky for my first online combat sim experience. I've been playing AW and now AH is just fine with me. I just feel lucky I was able to have all this fun over the years.

Please, stop spreading misinformation.  If you are going to yap your mouth about Top Secret in developement features might as well be correct.  The spins and blackouts are going to be user controlled on/off type things.  Like combat trim.  That is enough, you guys close your pieholes, please.
