The 2nd frame of the Friday Squad Ops was like that. All was quiet. No AAR's or anything. Of course no complaints also. :)

The only comment I have is that I am very pleased that the allies managed to achieve 2 out of the 3 objectives that was assigned to them. With the historical planeset of the frame giving the LW a big advantage in the fighter department (not that I'm complaining) it is very hard if not impossible.

Objective 1: protect fleet from being sunk by LW - check :)
Objective 2: hit D50 - check :)
Objective 3: hit A35 - no go due to heavy attrition :(
Although we did dispatch a sortie with 3 bombers to A35, they were all shot down by the 109s waiting for them...

On another note, special commendations to the Wings Of Death Sqn led by AndyH - who stumbled across the Stukas on the way to attack our fleet... you guys are responsible for allowing us to achieve objective # 1 .. wtg ! :)

Additional commendations to 308 Sqn TBM's who conducted a very professional and daring raid over D50 with very few losses in aircraft.

Without opening a can of worms (Warloc pay heed ;)  ) although an diversion such as this from an original flight plan is unwanted, this was the exception to the case, as the Wildcat & Seafire CAP of 9 GIAP & 101 Sqns was under great pressure at the time from the LW over the fleet, and probably would not have been able to stop the Stukas until they were over the fleet.

In summary I would like to say I had good fun on Sunday.
The objectives were difficult to achieve, and the planeset is a bit lopsided but ces't la vie in the early years of the war, I dare not complain as we all know how the tables turn towards the end of the war.

I have only one major complaint:
Again we lose people for silly mishaps and small damages that could be fixed in afew minutes in real life. In 308 Sqn when they returned and landed successfuly from tehir 1st attack sortie on D50, while they were waiting on the deck rearming and refuelling, We lost 2 ships to discos, and one ship due to a bug in the CV wires which kill your engine. This is so wrong... not letting people replane when they have landed safely or return from a disco after landing safely[ /b] just kills this event. Worst offcourse is sending people to bed after successfuly nursing a damaged plane to a safe landing. We are punishing players instead of rewarding them...

nice to read viff you have fun

unfortunly dur heavy sand storm in El-Helsinki airfield;-), one of our sqquadrons stuck on the ground.
This one who was assigned to cover stukas and kill you bombers when spot.
Stukas spot your raid to our depot, but without fighters they have poor chances. Luck for you. But we still have jabos in hangars who wait for good weather to sink your  ships.

Thanks for great duty Lento 32

332 "Italians ;-)" Vikings Squadron take first impact of enemy force and succesfully provide recon. Thx and

56 firebirds cover with succes field A35, and later provide cap over fleet.

315 was busy killing enemy ;)

I hope u all had fun. I am very sorry that only one Lentolaivue 34 pilot showed up.

Our squadron had a 5-year anniversary party with a RL meeting at Tampere, Finland that weekend. I was not not able to attend that meeting myself but my computer has serious crashing problems and I have not been able to fly at all since last thursday :(

Again, apologies to those Stuka pilots who were left without cover!

Ramzey, don't turn this into a slugfest, I was talking about those who managed to land safely, not die.

In any case, just for the record I think it should be apropriate to mention that Jesus was actually Jewish :)

Cheers,

We managed to fight off 6 109Fs over the target D50 (we were escort) in our 4 F4Fs, downing 3 without loss, but were bounced near the coast, low on fuel by more, and couldn't get out of it.

Just thought I would mention it, since we are missing from the AAR.

to the Allies in frame 1, it was a good effort.

Heh....try keeping the nose up a little bit more.  The only I ever lose my engine when landing on a CV is if I come in hard and flat and dip the nose into the deck.  I dont think that is a bug.
