Same thing happens to me here is what I am running.

nVidia GeForce4 440 Go
I just intalled the lastest drivers to try to fix the problem.  NO GO
Direct X 9b

Any help is appreciated.

edit:  If I try to go into the game, no matter what settings I select (remember no vid card is listed) I get this screen.

you need to back up the drivers to 30.82  or so you have the  45.xx   drivers on that GF 4 mx 440 card and they dont work .. I got the exact same thing on 3 different pc's with those drivers installed ...

Also reinstall direct X when your done installing the older drivers .

you didnt get the nvidia tweek program out of it ... i thinks its
NvCplDaemon    or   NvQ Twk

do a file search or program search for it and uninstall /remove it .

Its sort of a pain to do ..what happened is you swaped the drivers but that other part of the program is still there trying to run ...  so you have to remove it all then install your drivers and then reinstall directX ...
