After a prolonged absense, the Combat Air Patrol event returns to the Pacific Theater!
After a dogged fight for the Marianas, the Allies have moved in on their next objective: The Philippines. With a large invasion force the Allies are moving in to break the back of the Imperial Japanese Military. Will American strike forces decimate Japanese facilities on Leyte? Can the Japanese sink US ships fast enough to secure the island? Don't just ask the questions, help provide the answers!

Last week in a Stunning upset, the Imperial Japanese Forces Sank 4 CVLs and the USS Saratoga. It was by far the worst defeat in US Navy History, and was of even greater magnatude than the serious bellybutton whipping the USN put to the IJN in the Bloodbath of the Philippine Sea.
This upset has set the stage for a more desperate move by US forces, to ensure that their losses are not in Vain. With 3 remaining Fleet Carriers, and 2 CVLs to augment the 3 Invasion fleets, the Allies can still take control of the situtation. But can they Take control of Samar Island? Tune in to the SEA at 5:30 on Saturday and find out!

The USS Princeton Burns after taking Multiple bomb hits in the battle of Samar.
Note: The Sinking of the USS Princeton is one of the rare occasions when an event from history is repeated in the later stages of the CAP event. It was just ill fated I suppose.
