Is it a bug or do you just not credit in the stats for any kills in the field gun while defending a base. This afternoon I was in the field gun defending 50 and got a total of 12 kills with the field gun but it did not get added to the stat list. I have noticed that none of the kills I get in the guns either on the bases or the boats gets counted.

Highlight your user name on the roster and then click the score button. Your kills for the field gun are in the last category (scroll down). No, I don't believe field gun kills figure into rank, as they certainly don't fit into either of the four primary categories.
