Title: We Need A Dedicated FFA Arena
Post by: Cleaner on August 18, 2000, 11:28:00 PM
How's bout we start up a FFA only arena instead of using TA. I get more tips and practice there then any where else, also it's a nice place to warm up in..  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

No, but I think he is right. The TA has become an unnofficial FFA arena, why not make an official one and stop the BS.

Or maybe we players could make an agreement and claim one of the TA fields as FFA ALL THE TIME, 24/7. That field only. Maybe we could make the staff point it out on the little disclaimer you see when you join the TA.
FIELD XX IS THE DESIGNATED FFA FIELD

Good idea I think

How about just one country is FFA? That way anyone wanting to do a 2 sided training mission can do so without interferance. The rules should be, say Bishps is FFA. Nit and rookies are TA only. perhaps set it up so that Bish can ONLY shoot Bish without a kill shooter. Same for nits and rookies. They shoot bish they have killshooter.

Works for me.

I was told in the TA if I wanted to train someone I should move from A1.  This is so the person I was helping and I wouldn't get shot down.

Well isn't that special??!!??

A1 is the best area to train because you have the height right away after take off!  This helps the helper to perform more training sessions when someone gets gets shot down or crashes as a result of the training.

Asking someone to leave the area of A1 so they don't get shot down while helping someone is a total crock!!!

So yes!  I agree AH should have a dedicated FFA so people who are tying to help someone out in the TA can actually do training!!

I thought this problem was fixed, but I guess not!!  Apperently some people don't not read the note that pops up everytime you sign on the TA.

Believe it or not this type of behavior can turn away potential new members.  Please use your head in the TA if you are there to furball.

Sorry your question got blown off as a joke Renfield.

I believe he means something like Free For All arena where any pilot can shoot any other pilot down.

The training arena used to be a FFA and was a great learning area, but it caused numerous problems when new folks stopped by and were immediately shot out of the sky. Now there is a notice when checking in not to interfere with others unless you ask there permission first.

Establishing a FFA or just announcing that 1 country in the training arena is a Free For All Country is a good idea as long as it's not the default country with field A1.
