Beta6 sun effects are looking better than ever :)
Now, it is actually hard to target something when they are in close range of the sun, and it seems the intensity has increased a bit, making it a really unpleasant experience to stare at the general direction of the sky where the sun is glowing :D
The 'Telletubby-ish' sun glares are adjusted and looking more natural - very good!
..
It'd be even better if icon fade is somehow implemented - I'm not sure how hard that is, but seeing that we can easily switch the icon colors through a slider, I'm guessing that would mean adjusting the color of icons according to it's relation with the sun, would not be too hard to do.
I'm not looking for a total no-icon environment with the sun, but I think the icons fading to fainter colors as it nears the intensity of sunlight, would make it a little harder to spot the enemy when they come in from that direction. It's tactical use could really mean something significant in enhancing AH combat experience :)

I like the sun effects, but now the sun seems a bit too large, and the spikes are still too prominent and unnatural looking. Why have spikes at all? Rays through clouds would be nice, but the plain sun orb is the most classic and impressive.

Yea they are better, but it could be pushed a little more. Sun spikes only exist because of streaking on the surface you're looking through. With that in mind, if it moved closer to a streaking effect it would be impressive. If everyone just used Windex, there'd be no spikes :D

Go outside and look at the sun. You'll see the spikes from the light reflecting on the curve of your eyes.
Use sunglasses though
