Hey guys
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Belkin 4 port router/firewall (model #F5D5230-4,) running with NAT on, and its software setup for port forwarding when your running your own FTP server.
There is two places where it looks like you can set this up.
1.) Under "Virtual Server" where you input the following info:
Private IP---Private Port---Type (TCP/UDP)---Public Port
2.) Under "Special Application Ports" where you input the following info:
Trigger Port --- Trigger Type (TCP/UDP) --- Public Port --- Public Type (TCP/UDP)--- Enable (check box)
So which would be the correct one to use for setting up a FTP server (NetStream FTP/HTTP Server) which usually uses port 21 on one of my spare machine on my DSL router?
Thanks guys !

If I had to make a guess, I'd say virtual server. Set the private IP to the IP address of the machine running the FTP server software. Both public and private ports should be 21. The type should be TCP.

cc Bloom, thats what I thought as well. I wasn't sure what a trigger port was however, and I wasn't sure if a FTP server needed more than port 21 open or not.
Thanks
